Ellarum cost comparison panringa but motor oda working reliability is not so high as compared to an IC engine, i think an IC engine has an life of atleast 5 years or 6 years even used roughly ( in the sense of worst working conditions), but Motors have many internal issues for long term uses, it cant withstand extreme conditions, i think
If u say electric railway, those weren't motors used for commercial vehicles, so we cant take that as a reliablity factor.

Long time Temple monkeys fan here. I own Tesla Y in Chicago now. I have been folowing the EV tech space but this podcast filled the void I had about the ev game in India. I would love to share my experiences with you guys if you are planing any content regarding tesla.
Toyota never stated they forced to enter the market. Their stance is that electric is not sustainable green energy. So, we want to focus on truly environmental friendly things. Toyota is pioneer in environmental concious vehicle example mirage.... Their plan is to push true green power rather than pseudo green terms....For that they are trying to make hydrogen in a liquid state ratger than gaseous state....

Actually Vijay bro’s few points are so right. I am an Ather 450 owner driven it for 31k kms.
1. It is much suitable for person travelling to office and home with a slight detour.
2. I have the first version range currently is 60 kms to 63kms only so if I am going on field work I take my other vehicle.
3. The EV scooter owners should also own a petrol scooter.
4. There had been cases where I had run out of charge and pushed the vehicle.
5. You visit a charging station but someone is already using it or the the charging station is down.
6. Currently two wheeler charging ports are not standardised so for eg. the fast charging stations by Essel and Zein charging etc.
7. Now there is definitely drop in range from the time I had bought it.
On a simple math I had to drive 30k kms to break even my initial cost. Now I crossed that milestone but now I am out of warranty for both scooter and battery 🔋 . Just hoping I don’t run into any major trouble. But for sure my the time I reach 50k my range will still go down.
Should you go for an EV vehicle ?
Scooter - Yes ( Short runs and planned runs)
Car - No ( If you drive more than 16kms per year you can think of it.

5 years ago, I was using a cab in China made by ‘BYD’. The cabs are highly profitable for the drivers, a luxurious feeling for the passengers. The drivers used to charge their cabs two days in once after hefty travel (About 200 to 300 Km). I expect the same technology to be used here in the future.

Biggest problem with any EV is the Battery Maintenance. It is the most expensive part of the vehicle. Storing vehicles with 100% charge or 0% charge is bad. Operating at high temperature or cold temperature is bad. It will definitely degrade after a fixed number of charging cycles. EVs need different kind of care and maintenance. Zero maintenance is lie. EVs are okay for luxury market. For mass adoption, our electricity infrastructure will not be sufficient. Recycling old battery is a huge topic and environment concern.
Trains - infrastructure is already there, and the fuel is continuous power supply. not relaying on battery.
