Really? I thought the opposite. She seemed like the “Bella Swan” type character that Hollywood loves. The “good girl” with an “edge” and just enough depth (but not too much) lol. Don’t get me wrong she was amazing in her role, but her character didn’t feel different than most American movies that deal with this kinda subject matter 🤷🏻♀️

I literally watched this whole series in one night. I love the deep dark romance and then the crazy spin of the couple. I loved how even though Sebastian was going under hard times he was still real. I love how maya was always next to him even when it meant to care for him first vs her when she didn’t have too. The ending was overwhelmingly sad. I fell in love with Sweden and I want to Visit now. I also downloaded the music in this film. Tragically beautiful. I hope there’s a new series 😍😍😍.

You know you’ve watched a well-crafted series when you aren’t able to predict the ending. I had ZERO idea what was going to happen right up until it did. I really could see it going either way, which is not often the case. The least believable thing about it is living in the US and hearing this girl lament the idea of a 14-year sentence for murdering a couple of people in a school shooting. In America, you can get 20 years for stealing a car w/ an unloaded gun in your pocket. This would have been a 1 episode season here-they offer her 14 years, she accepts before they change their minds, roll credits.
I'll never understand how anyone stays in an abusive relationship. This is another example of codepency. If she'd just left him when she said she was going to, maybe he would've only killed himself, but that's not the story.
You can read about "battered women syndrom" (should be called battered person syndrom but I guess its overrepresented among woman due to the society we live), the reason one says in an abusive relationship is impossible to understand if you have not experienced it it. Battered women syndrom is the thing that happens psychological when you live in an abusive relationship, either psychological abuse, physical abuse or both. When this happens to a person you feel like you are trapped and that it is no way out. You are in a psychological prison. It's easy to say "why don't just leave?", but if it had been easy no one would have stayed. So check that up :D
Have you ever been in a domestic violence relationship? Because if you haven’t then you won’t understand. It’s not that easy. You don’t know that you’re actually in an abusive relationship until you escaped. You are so manipulated that you don’t see a way out. It’s not ”just to leave”. She clearly felt a sense of responsibility for him. He did have some sense of decency in him, and she knew better than anyone that if she’d left him nobody would help. The more everyone around her tried to tell her to leave, warn her, and convince her he was a POS; the more she became defensive and was driven back to him. Keep in mind, these were kids, first time ever “being in love”. We’ve all been there and very few of us would make the kinds of choices now like we did then.

When Sebastian's father told her to save herself it was too late because she was already shocked, brainwashed and addicted to drugs.
I think sebastian picked her because he knew she was the perfect victim. He seemed to be mentally unstable and their relationship became all about him and his needs. Never about her. He didn't seem to care about her, unlike Samir. She became a very hatable person with him. He was so toxic for her. I hated who she was. It was so sad ti see her destroy herself.
I watched the english version for like 3 seconds after i was finished with the show in swedish, but i had to turn it off because it was so cringy with their accents and all

This show is probably good in Sweden and maybe it should stay there, it’s the worse show I’ve seen on Netflix. I know English isn’t it’s first language but half the time the voice actress speaks gibberish. The gun violence is stupid. You can’t use bolt action rifle or even semi auto rifles with the mags built in and use it like a fully automatic M4.
Turn on the subtitles and listen to it w/ the real actors’ voices. And if you’re actually turned-off by the inaccurate portrayal of the types of weapons used, you may have missed the point.
