This technique will help you to get over your opponent's defense and attack from a different angle by using some of the concepts we learned in the episode #179 👉 • POWER SLAP MOTIONS - K...

    Very creative. Love the mix of Traditional Wing Chun with “modern” effective solutions.

    The positioning (dead areas), is same principles in Aikido. Skull Slap/ positioning for Irimi Nage. Elbow Slap/ positioning for Ikkyo. Great information in tying the arts together.

    You have the cunning ability, not unlike Bruce Lee to use multiple martial arts, integrate them all to come to a pragmatic outcome. For this i praise you @Adam Chan #ThumbsUp
    The idea to show application using a Big guy' makes it all the more convincing.

    Not unlike my philosophy; when an altercation occurs it is not the point to match up and see who can fight better; instead you want the fight to be over and done with ASAP with hopefully no seriously injured parties.

    So if you train lap sao all the time countering straight punches and in a street fight you get a hook punch which is common how do you counter that ?

    • @gabrielrae7647
      @gabrielrae7647 2 года назад +1

      Tan sow bew sau a high wu sau or an inside pak sau or preferably if possible a strike down the center line before the punch is completely on the way

    • @keyser_söze23
      @keyser_söze23 2 года назад +1

      Sorry but unless the guy throwing the hook is significantly lighter than you, DO NOT use a tan-sau, your arm will just fold under the pressure and you're getting hit.
      Biu-sau combined with a bicep punch with an immediate, continuous, follow up will stop most people.

    Why do you use the thumb in the lop? Is this how to teach and train the lop? The basic lop as we were taught never uses the thumb... Why not is simple, the thumb wrap traps the lop hand...with the thumb wrapped you must undo the thumb before the lop can convert to a strike...also it is vulnerable to chin-na... Also, while circling around can work for the strike the center is open to a counter that is shorter if the other person doesn't allow you to whack his structure... That's why Wing Chun doesn't do it.

      What you described is the Hong Kong way, yes it protects you from wrist breaks. Why we thumb grab is to stop the opponent from using his rear guard or his Lan Sao to defend himself.
