For someone selling toys in a chain here in EU I especially kept my eyes on Barbie. And we were not allowed to do such things as picky quality-check. If something electronic doesn‘t work we immediately shipped it back. But Barbie faces started getting so wonky we couldn‘t send them all back.

Those defective Doll Instagram pics are interesting to look at but they make me feel so bad because no kid is really going to want those. If I had the money I'd buy them anyways and just try to redo their faces anyway, that's kind of a trend now anyways and I'd like to see how I'd do. The playsets are still good so all you have to do is just to fix whatever Mattel messed up in the painting process; even though we shouldn't have to because that's their job. I understand that quality control is not going to be able to catch everything but when 4 out of 5 dolls are defective that's pretty unnecessarily bad.

When my dad was a kid, he got a doll of Daphne from Scooby-Doo that had brown hair instead of red hair, I don't know if it was a Barbie but still interesting
Unfortunately these defects arnt exaggerated. I live in North Carolina and Ive seen barbies at walmart and target all over the state including Virginia with barbies with defects. Especially the wonky eyes are the most common. Its sad I have to shuffle around barbies to find one with a decent face nowadays lol
hey, I love your videos and i love this so much- I collect transformers and while they're pretty different they can have some interesting quality control issues too. There are some toys where all of the toys were just misassembled and can't actually transform because their arms or legs were attached backwards and stuff. Are there any doll lines you know about like that where there was a mistake that effects pretty much all of a particular doll?
A few of my barbies lost their heads when I was a kid in the 80's. :( My Pretty and Pink one popped off when I was brushing her hair and I wasn't doing it that hard.
I had it in the 90s, many barbie dolls and Disney dolls. It was always Mattel ... My mum used to glue their heads back on and then they looked like they had really short necks.
Oh man I'm really, really glad I kept my childhood Barbies (I'm 26, have Barbie dolls since I was 7) and you REALLY see the difference, they were just so well made, even the simpler ones, their make up was perfectly done, and most important, BENDING KNEES
My Ken Fashionista #162 has a Creatable World Head. I don't know if it was done on purpose when I saw him at Wal-Mart. And what's even worst is that the re-usable bag had no tag where the zipper is. However, it feels like I only got the defected Ken Doll, just for his clothes.
I remember that after the Monster High reboot, there was a photo floating around of a budget line swimsuit Lagoona that had the eyes printed too low so she had a giant forehead and looked really grouchy.
I had a Monster High Jackson with a crooked eye, but it wasn’t too bad and I found it kind of cute looking. Thankfully none of my other dolls have had problems that make them look like any of these.
Admittedly some of these are definitely defects while some look like someone did that on purpose. My biggest gripe is when I find a doll I want and there are only a handful and each doll has a defect. The worst goes to collector dolls. I can understand budget dolls being sloppy. It's almost insulting to see Mattel post amazing Instagram photos of their dolls and give us, their consumers lazily made products. I consider myself lucky enough to not find constant defect dolls, only every now and again.

I'm sure they always had defects. but they probably used to sort them out and either destroy them or send them to outlet stores to be sold at half price
I've had a ton of experiences with mattel dolls having wonky faces or even the wrong body parts (I've seen plenty of wonky eyes but one time one of my christmas presents had two left hands, mattel sent me replacements for free once I had contacted them about it at least) this kind of thing is also why I'm not a big fan of shopping online cause at least in person I can look and see if the doll is messed up. Sometimes mistakes happen but it's become disgustingly common they really need to do something about this
I'm one of those 2000 new subscribers, and I have no regrets either! I never had interest in toy/doll collection channels except this one. The way you talk doesn't seem all fake and peppy like others with overused royalty free music blasting in the background like most channels I've seen. You deserve more subscribers honestly.
I don't think you are hard on Mattel. I agree with you Mattel's quality control is off One of the treason I have not purchased any new Barbie dolls in the last several years.
My grandma gave me her Barbie from when she was a kid today and they are so cool! They aren’t defective like these poor girls thankfully but very cool! The oldest is from 1961!
a few months ago, I got a monster high doll, Jane Boolittle from Gloom n' Bloom line, brand new in box, and when I opened her, she had two right hands for both left and right hand I'm quite dissapointed, because she's a beautiful doll, and just because that simple mistake, it kinda ruins the doll... if mattel is going to insist on selling these blatantly defective dolls they should acknowledge that the only people who would be willing to pay money for them are customizers who would redo the faces anyway so they should be sold at a discount - because otherwise it honestly is unfair to the consumers - ESPECIALLY blind buys off line where you cant see it for yourself until it's already paid for
Joined a few days ago loving your channel so far I rescue quite a lot of dolls from various places as well as buy them new and i’ve gotten so many defective dolls even some of the older ones I find are quite defective like the rubber type with bend and snap knee their top layer of rubber starts to peel on some it looks like bad sunburn Barbie 😢😭

The ET looking ones the problem occured during the plastic extrusion process or a defective mold. Maybe to hot when removed from the mold.
