    That's what Gardening it's all about trial and error, learning new exciting methods.
    I enjoy Winter Sowing in milk jugs which works as a mini greenhouse.
    Thank you for the update 🌿❤️

    It’s incredible how much protection this simple system can still provide.

    I placed an old window on top of a smaller raised bed, surrounded by straw since it doesn't quite fit the bed frame and planted Corn mache back in the fall. Amazingly it is still alive through many freezes and thaws in a very cold climate - east coast of Canada. Not much growth due to low light levels but quite a fun experiment. The soil freezes but the plants survive -- incredible! Thanks for sharing -- you inspired me to give it a try!

      That’s awesome! Mache is incredibly hardy. It grows very slowly but it can outlast pretty much everything. Experiments are great for learning!

    Thank yo for sharing this. I am in northern MN zone 3b and I have often wondered how these might work. I bet this spring they will take off and grow before spring has arrived. Please do a follow up.

      Thanks for watching! They should survive the winter and start growing again when the weather warms up. I’ll definitely do an update by early Spring!

    G, living in Tucson. Saw your dad yesterday. Question, how to start seeds in egg carton??
    Thanks, Jim

    • @SomeRoomtoGrow
      @SomeRoomtoGrow  2 года назад

      Hey Jim! It’s great to hear from you! I’ve never tried using an egg carton, but it’s probably just like using starter trays. Just poke a few holes in the bottom of each cup for drainage, add soil mix and plant your seeds. Make sure the carton isn’t sitting in water for too long so it doesn’t fall apart. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    What zone are you in?
    I’m northern Maryland zone 7a.
    What do you recommend growing in cold frames?

    • @SomeRoomtoGrow
      @SomeRoomtoGrow  Год назад +1

      We’re in 5b. You can grow anything that will fit inside and can do well with colder temps. Lettuce, carrots, hardy greens, beet root, radishes, etc.

      Ja crazy, I just finished your series.
      While watching it I went to local ebay marketplace.
      Checked for free windows. Found some. Asked them if they are ever in my area, because I'm not in theirs. And already got a positive response.
      You see your videos have a real world impact.
      Thx

    You should-- first shovel your stairs. before you slip and fall down. Then shave your beard -(beards are for people looking to be like jc-they cannot be.). and they are filthy -BUT keep up the great vids!
