    I would bet >50% of Americans would be unable to locate Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, and Missouri. And probably 50% would swap Tennessee and Kentucky lol

    • @TimberlakeTigerGirl
      @TimberlakeTigerGirl 4 месяца назад +1

      I remember in 5th grade we had a test to show we remembered all the states and capitals. I don't know what went wrong, but all but 2 students didn't do well or straight up failed the test. The 2 that aced it were myself and a boy in our class; everyone else got C's, D's, or F's. The teacher was so mad demanding to know why everyone else didn't study and prepare for the test. Or if they were even paying attention when he was going over everything multiple times. As punishment, everyone had to retake the test and lost recess time. Except me and the boy who got A's. Funny enough, I ended forgetting Alaska and Hawaii completely so I didn't fill them in but I knew what their capitals were. So I got a 95 and the boy got a perfect 100. My teacher asked me if I knew the capitals of the two states I missed and I told him so he let me off the hook. As a reward for being the only two to do well on the test, we were excused from the retake. And we got extra recess time for the entire week.
      I think some parents complained about how their kids were denied recess but the teacher simply said 'that is their fault for not studying'.

Vermont looks somewhat V shaped and New Hampshire is right next to it. Nevada has somewhat the shape of a V at the bottom. I try to associate different things with different states. They also have another way to do the quiz which is much more difficult where each state is separate from the others and the sizes are adjusted to be more equal too. I have tried the European quiz and have halfway good luck at it, but need to work on it. You did much better than most would do.

    I can't sit in judgement. I have no idea where Portugese provinces are located. I have a vauge idea where where Lisbon and Oporto are. I know a little modern Portugese history and bits and pieces of pre-Salazar times.

    Not too bad for a non-American. Although after how many times you clicked on Iowa incorrectly you should have gotten that one. 😀
