HAPPY BIRTHDAY COIN GUY... HOPEFULLY NOT TOO LATE! Really, really enjoy listening to Coin Guy and his stories.... can't really see him retiring. He seems to enjoy doing coins and video chats with you too much, Speg...at least I hope he doesn't retire too soon. Thanks so much for sharing these videos, SpegTacular! I hope you never stop going to Coin Guys!! Take care, be safe and God bless!
Here is what I learned in life about work. Hard physical work can make you exhausted, but at the end of the day, you take a nice shower, eat and relax you feel really good, maybe a little tired, but good. If you do work all day that is not physical but mental (I was in an intense customer service job all day) the ONLY thing and I mean the only thing that will get you better is a good deep sleep. I used to be so tired on a Friday evening I would actually fall asleep with a plate of food in my lap watching tv.
Happy healthy Birthday Day Guy, thank you for the knowledge you share. If your followers & viewers didn't love you & what you do, you wouldn't be on RUclips. God Bless America & you as well.
That fake 1928 Peace Dollar would have made me sick for a month if I had bought that. The ancients were interesting. Thanks for posting, It's Always a treat.
@@Spegtacular Knowing that it is a fake is one thing. Buying it only to find out you got rooked is enough to make a person volunteer for an all-expenses paid vacation at the High Sheriff's Bed and Breakfast... LOL
You would have bought a coin in a slab and didn't bother looking at the coin itself? I don't even think that would be possible for me. Looking at the coin itself is my favorite part of the hobby. I guess it would be sickening if you sent a 28 to PCGS and got a 23 back. lol.
Happy Birthday Guy ! Do your sales go up every time you talk about retiring? Just Kidding. If you do retire, thanks for reminding me how fun coin collecting is, I’m really glad I got back into the hobby.
My fear with fake coins is eventually someone will make a scanner and CNC machine good enough to reproduce unlimited amounts of perfect reproduction coins. Then collecting rare coins will basically be over.
I had a pretty nice lil collection going of about 2 hundred silver dollars, various morgans, peace and a good bit of walking liberties. Just a conglomeration of silver. When Trump was in, unfortunately I have had to eliminate 90% of my collection just to get by with the fam. I pray better days are ahead for me and mine. Thanks fella's love the videos.
@@geeussery8849 just curious honestly. Gas for instance was 2.50 a gallon in CA under trump. Gas is now 5.00 under Biden in CA. If you were struggling that much back then you must be living on the streets now especially with your stack diminished 90%. Gas is just an example I could go on ALL day long rent, insurance, food, on and on. I haven't seen an economy this bad since 08 and honestly I think this is worse than that and the burn is lasting much longer. If you didn't get at least a 30% raise how could you POSSIBLY be making it? I'm curious just honestly...
@@samlemin4717 I believe you may be right.. 200 Morgan's and peace dollars at $30 a coin is 6 k. You need an extra 5 k to keep up back then I would be toast now if that was me...🤷
I’m pretty sure everyone I know had there rent go up under Kamala + Biden, not Trump. Not to mention they pay more for interest, insurance, gas, etc. Feel like I’m taking crazy pills. We wanna go back!! To Trump!!
Happy birthday, Guy! I still have to wait ~6 months for my own milestone. I'm harvesting some dividends and investing them in more silver. Crazy world.
Have seen some fake circulated Morgan dollars usually key date coins, where the details were just too sharp to be circulated, also rims were full with very little wear. They are getting better.
Really a nice conversation between you two. Always talking about coins. On the ancient coins, he took a Spanish coin that was old but not an ancient one. The 5 pesetas from Franco with the date 1957. The real mintage date of the coin you can see on the star that the coin has. Greetings from Portugal. Big hug.
I purchased 5 oz of fake silver eagles from ebay, By mistake. The tone was off for me, Then I driled into one copper core. Took 1 Is to a local coin shop, They did notice😮 EBay refunded me.
Aloha, thank you for the great video. Is this man in the Boston area? I’m wondering because I might want to get in touch with him to check out an old coin collection I inherited. Thank you.
Interesting conversation on leaving the Country for Thailand , I had also heard that Uruguay was also a popular destination for American expats , but you had better get it in gear, as in before the Presidential election in Nov. !
16:46 that reverse is what's called a "camp gate" which is exactly what it sounds like as it's the gate of a Roman army camp. That particular one looks like it's probably from one of the Constantine's or Licinius. It was popular in that time to show the camp gate as a nod to the people to show them that the Emperor cared about the army and keeping them safe from barbarian raids. edit: also, you can clean ancients (within reason), just not modern coins. a lot of those worn down Constantine era follis coins are only worth a few dollars anyway.
It has been better than a decade ago when customs caught two cargo containers in Chicago full of Morgans from China. Word was that China didn't see them as counterfeit because those coins were from before the start of the communist state.
I bought a CAPRI HEAVY DUTY HOLE PUNCH SET . I punched different size holes in my coin and now i have nuggets. Fun and easy. The small ones are worth about $14.00
I'm surprised that the counterfeiters don't use 90% silver, exact weight and measurements when making the high dollar fakes, such as that 1921 Walking Liberty. Maybe I shouldn't be saying that out loud.
A few do. I got some. I bought a couple small collections that had been handed down twice, met family seemed very legit. Some of the fakes tested Sterling. Wild. Makes sense you make 1,000 of them and pass them off overa dew years and you got alot of money
I see it too, deals on gold coins come and go, when I see a lot of good deals popping up, then people like Guy report he is seeing a drop off in sales in his shop, but right now gold coin auctions are being run up far higher than they have gone for, people are willing to pay up right now.

I agree with that ancient, definitely an alien on the obverse.
I have used soft brass wire brushes for cleaning dirty ancient coins.
