  • Top 4 Knife Threat Counters - Part 2- of Top 10 Methods of defense UNARMED Against A Knife Attack
    ‪@JingShenKuoshu‬
These are four of the most common knife threats that standard civilians might encounter. In this clip, We are not intending on giving you any advanced joint manipulation techniques, just the basics for our beginners studying in the JSK Tactical Knife Training program.
Our advice would be NEVER to take on an attacker with a knife unarmed. These are simply 4 training "worst-case" scenarios where you are forced into a threat situation where someone was able to get a knife up against your throat and maybe make demands, threatening your life or intent on moving you to a secondary location.
To all the internet haters who will say all their crazy comments as usual. lol... This is simply an intro and training scenario for our students. It's training to help our students gain awareness of how to deal with a potential knife threat. Yes, people can get hurt, maimed, or killed and I'm sure I'll hear all kinds of crazy comments about how you can't fight someone with a knife, do what they say, give them what they want, say "stop.. No".lol.
C'mon people. If you don't train for these situations, you won't have even the slightest chance of survival if something does happen. In the US. There is a knife attack reported every 5 minutes. So you decide if you need this knowledge or not.
Again, this is for Jing Shen Kuoshu students who have been already informed of safety precautions, taken responsibility for their own liability, and have gone through our instructor program.
This is the internet. Anyone trying these techniques takes responsibility for their own health and safety precautions. Never train without a qualified instructor and NEVER use anything but safe training equipment (Don't be an idiot and use a live weapon EVER) Training is for learning, making mistakes, discussion, development, coordination, knowledge, wellness, health, and fun... So be responsible and safe.

Thank you for watching my videos. It appears that Knife Defense videos are popular on this channel. My goal is to be able to provide regular weekly and possibly daily videos as I attempt to take this channel to the next level. To do so, I am adding a Channel Membership, beginning June 2019 through either Patreon or SubscribeStar (what do you advise?), TeeSpring is to bring a product line of clothes and stuff... and a cool new option is that I will become an influencer for Amazon. This will allow me to recommend products I use and set up a storefront, directed right off this channel. SO COOL!
I am learning, so I do expect I will make a few mistakes this month as I begin learning how to do this. Your advice is always welcome. Especially if you have knowledge of SubscribeStar or Patreon... This kinda trips me out, asking people to support me. But, what a cool option if it works. I would love to be able to spend much more time bringing products to my Subscribers and future Channel Members.
Either way, I just really want to thank you and let you know I appreciate you watching these videos. You're Awesome!

There are several sites you could look up and see real knife threats, hostage situations and more. I won’t mention the names of these. I have a huge women’s self defense program and have several women who were held at knife point, with a knife to their throat. Thanks for your comment though.

Great explanation of what you’re doing / not doing and why. We tried these out at karate training week (7 instructors) as a break from our Shukokai. Everyone enjoyed it. Having something ‘up your sleeve’ is reassuring plus absolute need to avoid such scenarios. Thanks Greg.

I had incident when ex-roommate came back after 3 months , high on something, walks into my room with a knife and he wanted my life ! So I said a prayer 🙏 charged him using my torso for as bait , as he lunged, he's thinking I'm coming fast but I stop right before I'm his range. Then I grabbed his right hand with my left hand then I put my back against his torso then my right hand flipped the knife just as you showed. And I also used a wall to use as a stabilizer so he won't move as I'm taking the knife away. After I called the police and they said I can keep his knife lol. Thanks for lessons

JingShenKuoshu this martial art 🥋 that you’re teaching is new for me. Therefore it’s all good.
I learned eskrima-kali Silat for a couple years where I became somewhat proficient in. Yet without weekly practice it diminishes. I was looking to get back into knife defense and disarms. Unfortunately the state I live in strips the citizen of self defense with no 2nd Amendment rights. New Jersey only allows pistols, rifles and shotguns to and from the range. Any deviation to and from the range will land that person in jail as was the case with Brian Aitken, Shaneen Allen.

    • @andrewtanczyk4009
      @andrewtanczyk4009 4 года назад

JingShenKuoshu what I like about the way you teach is it’s natural how you flow with the movements. Especially the one when he has the knife 🔪 to your throat you raise shoulder and arm to drive him off balance. And if he has the knife 🔪 on your throat from behind how you grab his wrist to peal out. I like how you mention to keep track of his other hand 👋 and even trap and pin his arms together. I remember learning that part from JKD Eskrima-Kali Silat.
Thanks. I got to get back to training since times are getting more dangerous and these lawmakers are disarming citizens of their 2nd amendment rights and releasing convicted criminals out of prison early from this COVID-19 virus 🦠.
      Thanks, be safe.

The best would be to carry also a knife....one with the emerson system. Tell your student NOT to be easy, NOT to comply but instead to have the mind of a killer, to really have the intention of a cut to REACT at every move you do, with real speed not with real knife of course, then show us that video, and even that, is not enough because no attack is ever the same. Salutes.

That's part of the problem... Most good people don't go out looking for trouble... Trouble tends to (rarely) find us. My daughter and I were coming out of a movie theater about ten years ago on a Saturday night, in a very safe area where we live... As we were walking towards the car, I (fortunately) happened to see someone approaching us, (you rarely get that opportunity to see someone approaching) asking for a dollar or two. I said "No, I don't carry cash sir, sorry" Now, in this day and age you say "thank you just the same and keep walking, but he kept coming towards us...I gave the keys to my daughter and told her to get in the car and lock the doors and I started following behind her. Being a Sandan (3rd Dan) in Aikido, and a 2nd Dan in Tang Soo Do, with extensive studies in various forms of street/weapons defenses, I instinctively knew something was about to happen. I extended my hand and said "That's far enough sir". He took his (empty) left hand out of his jacket pocket but kept his right in. He kept coming stating "Man, you ain't gotta be that way. I just need a dollar" and that was it. He got to me before I got to my car. I immediately went for his right hand not knowing if it was a knife or gun, and managed to extend and stiffen his right arm that had a small knife. Controlling his arm I took out his kneecap, as he dropped the knife, I gave a knee shot to his face and with my hands and fingernails out and stffend, I swiped both of his eyes to temporarily blind him. I didn't stand there monologuing or admiring my work. I got me and my daughter the hell out of there and called the police as an anonymous caller on the way home. It all happened within seconds. I just reacted instinctively. That was by far the weirdest thing I had ever experienced, but thanks to my years of training and experience, I got my daughter home safe. My wife was hysterical but happy we were ok. I got a small cut on my left hand but it was minor... Could have been alot worse. My daughter and I still talk about that event to this day.

The first 3 you can get comfortable with, with some practice. The 4th is the most difficult. But you wanna practice them enough so that you just react if it happens to you. If nothing else; if you can get the knife away from your body and take off running, that might be just as good.

For the technique where the attacker is behind you and you rotate at his wrist, how do you adjust if they have a solid grab of your shirt or jacket with their other hand? 🕶

Hi!!! Can you demo how to disarm a guy with a knife pointing at the right side or left side or you belly or stomach while his other hands is on your shoulder?... Please make that video.,..it's a big pleasure to me if you did that ☺️

  • @Mytubehereat

I think some of you may be missing the point here. Greg mentioned the word "threat", not "attack". This threat scenario could easily be the prelude to an abduction. A defensive theory in common practice today is to NEVER go to a secondary crime scene willingly. These techniques are as good as any, &/or better than most.
This isn't about defending yourself from a "sewing machine" prison riot ambush. This is about turning the tables on someone who is pretty sure he's going to get you to comply out of fear. He will be VERY surprised when you pull this off, especially if &/or when you move in on him mid-sentence, or after asking him a question.
Ah, and in so far as to whether to keep the attacker's knife or not... If you can manage to strip a weapon from someone in the heat of the moment like that, you may want to hold on to that if he has a few friends with him.
There's a guy named "Larry Wick" that used to do similar drills against multiple armed opponents.
I've used Greg's "Bouncer's Toolbox" both personally & professionally. I'd recommend him &/or his staff to anyone. If that's nor enough, he's also very personable, and does more than his share of charity work.

True, these are simply principles people might consider. No one should ever engage in a knife fight.
We are going to be hosting our first online Level1 knife Training Seminar Sunday, June 8, 2019 at 12:30pm on this channel. I hope you check it out. I love feedback.
