“we use 2-3 pods per load”… I can assure you that unless your clothes are caked on with dirt or grease.. one pod is all you need for a large load regardless what the container of pods now suggests. They didn’t used to suggest multiple pods per load.. and suddenly they do.. clearly they want people to buy them more often!!
Thank you for continuing to share your life on board a cruise ship. Enjoying these behind the scenes, day in the life of, week in the life of…. And I appreciate how simply you share, it’s low key, never over the top, just being yourself🥰
Yes thanks krista. I do wish we could hear from the maids, waiters, and kitchen staff in these cruising as crew videos instead of just entertainment and shops people. We are only hearing from the people in the top 1% of the jobs on a cruise ship. So, yeah, those are the fun, romantic jobs they do. Making beds? Not so much.
I just got done with my RC cruise and to my surprise I was on your ship this past week. You and you boyfriend are very talented and I enjoyed the shows! The very first day I passed by the wifi help desk and didn't realize this was the ship you worked on lol. It would have been weird if I said something, although looking back I should have randomly said I liked your RUclips videos.
When in Europe skip the run of the mill, everywhere “Starbucks” and try local coffees. We truly appreciated the depth and flavor. 2:59 $1.50 per drink if she makes it herself, $4 if she buys it at the crew bar. Here we’re paying $12 - $14 each - plus tip = but then, they earn their cocktails!
@@afridgetoofar1818 no reason you can’t do both. It’s not an either or proposition. I’ve traveled the world and had great experiences while simultaneously saving for my future enough that I bought a house with cash before the age of 35.
I worked as a safety petty officer on the Pacific Princess, back in 2000-2001. The only thing I had to pay for was $8 per month for healthcare. That was it. I did however buy a lot of rounds in the crew bar.
Krista I was onboard last week (Oct 6-13) and just want to say that I loved your main show Once Upon a Time (as expected). Shout out to Robert, especially for his role in the Pinocchio section.
Unless a person desires to be without any net worth, it is best to forget that poor advise. A young person allocating funds for investment is akin to planting an apple seed so his children may have an apple to eat someday.
3 months ago I was watching cruise videos non stop for weeks thinking about taking my very first cruise. Then I totally forgot about it haha. Anyway, you'd think everyone would want to work a couple of hours at the wifi desk. That just makes sense.
We cruised on Freedom in December to St Maarten, St Kitts and Nevis, and St Lucia. This was our third time on Freedom and we will definitely do it again - it is our favorite RC class of ship. This cruise was simply outstanding!! Thanks to you and the rest of the crew for making it such a wonderful time.
Love your videos! I started watching from the beginning of your channel before you exploded now and have such a following (congrats!!!). I love cruising and love how real and down to earth you are. Hope you keep continuing to grow! :)
It technically does get taking out of your paycheck. Part of your “pay” rather they say it or not out loud is room and board, it’s one of the reasons why the pay is crap for the hours worked (XXX hours actually worked divided by pay)= a whole lot less then a person thinks per hour.
Enjoy life while your young. Great that you go ashore a lot. I guess the longer you do the cruises and go to repeat destinations the less you will spend.
loved the Flow Rider surfing, you're a natural 🤣. Yeah, if I was CEO of RCCI id give all crew a free hour a day. $200 a week thats not too bad. I spend about that getting to the office and having a sandwich and bits for lunch 3 days a week and that is a lot less fun than coco cay.
Could pick up yourself one of those starlink tablets! Definitely cheaper smaller and more powerful than ship wifi I’ve always thought it would be fun working on a ship for a bit! But my career as a photographer/videographer there’s not many options for me 😂
I wonder if that would work? I feel like somehow the ship would block my signal haha. And there is the photo department, but I'm sure it gets repetitive taking photos of families all day!
Just tried the Tropical Redbull this morning because of you and this video lol. Very good, love the hint of grapefruit. Love RC also, my fam and I are Diamond Plus.
Can you bring your own packaged Brazil nuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds olive oil, etc on board for free to assist with the food expenses? Do they usually have meats each night for free (chicken, ground beef, etc.?) In theory could someone who eats very basic eat for free doing something similar to the above? Thanks!
So thats great you get to experience so much traveling and adventures in different country's and cultures. How much do you get paid for your job there. It's a lot like being in the NAVY without the harrasment from your superiors.
I just went on that ship for Christmas. My first time trying RC and the rooms were not clean. Dust all over the place and the glass on the balcony was horrible, making the time we wanted to spend on our balcony, unpleasant. The drinks packages even with discounts were astronomically expensive. The ports were nice though and the staff, especially our room attendant, were phenomenal. Can't decide if we'll try RC again though. We also have all kinds of perks on Norwegian with our status.
hey Krista. For those interested in working on a cruise ship, you brought up a good point - how would a new crew member pay their bills back home? I'm going to assume automatic withdrawal of their monthly bills. How does this work out? Thank you.
I remember getting paid and then taking two steps and giving back the majority of my pay from all the drinking I was doing. I was hammered everyday for 3 months straight. Good times.
First time viewer here, very interesting. Probably previous vids show what do you do on "shownights "?? No concept of weekly expenditures vs weekly pay...booooo !!
I love this with the transition! You need to do more of this I know it's hard but it's amazing!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Wow!! I spent 200 usd in 2 days hahahahahahaha!!
That's what I was wondering? She has a nice cushy life compared to the grunts from the third world that do all the work. A cruise ship employee with a private room? WTH?
Also, plastic water bottles have phytoestrogens in them which can be detrimental to male fertility . Is there anyway to get water without buying plastic water bottles on board? And can someone bring their own coffee maker or do you have to buy onboard?
$200×4=$800/month so it still could be a rental depending where you live with everything included minus the food. Always put pod in first then laundry and only ever use one per wash and leave wiggle room or else the machine will be off balanced and really make sure the door has a tight seal before usage because it also means it will not was your clothes either.
What's the average salary of a crew member in comparison to what you might spend in a week you save a lot is it really helping you working on board to save
Question: When you were in Europe did you get to be tour bus escort because that would save a lot on seeing the sights? Having been on cruises all over the world, I found the video very informative. Do it while you can! 😎
It's such a wide range between all positions, the cruise line and the specific ship.... but for Royal Caribbean you could make anywhere between $2,500 and $10,000 a month depending!!
We have insurance included while we are on board! Minor things are taken care of at the medical center here and bigger issues they will send you somewhere on land! I always forget to mention that haha
I was a technician and have been on hundreds of cruises, usually a week or two at a time. To me it's ground hogs day everyday. When i retire I'll never get aboard again😂😂😂
$200 a week are you kidding me … you could not ever get a tiny apartment on land for that. Let alone food, drinks, entertainment o and don’t forget travel the 🌎 world. Your young , party on girl! 😊

I thought the same, I was saying …hmmmi hv always just used one
She might mean per machine bc they can wash multiple loads at a time (I HOPE thays what she means!😅)
This was an excellent youtube video.
Put them in the washer???? WAAAAAH??? You’re supposed to eat them, DUH.

Krista it’s your hard earned money you spend however you see pleased. You only live once enjoy every moment of it that you can.❤️❤️🚢

That means so much to me! Thank you for following along! ♥️
Its expensive in the Bahamas because the majority of what we have gets imported from the US and then heavily taxed
why do you use 3 pods per load?
This looks like so much fun!! I wonder if there are older crew members on board
Saw the high seas rally hat! Can't wait for this years!
Thinking outside the box, could you use something like Starlink? Like satellite internet.

Exactly! Just set everything up before you go basically!
How many hours a week do you work? I'll presume it's different for the wait or cooking staff
My spending on board is so erratic tho :), one week ill decide to save money then the next week I buy enough caffeine to feed a small village

Does the cast get more free time then per se the cleaners or waiters?

Cleaners/ waiters typically work 10+ hr days so they only get 4 hours a day. In other words, they get no time off compare to performers.
But most importantly, what do you make?

You're young, so enjoy spending. Just make sure to save for retirement. It's never too early to start.
How was the hiring process ?- Are they discriminative ? - What cruise line ?
