Did you miss the fact that all of the "types" listed were nationalities? French, Japanese, Korean, Welsh... using your logic, none of those would be considered race. It seems to me like, they were just listing where the two parents were from. One parent is from Korea, one is from America....Quick question. Are all French people white? Last time I checked they weren't, sooo why aren't you questioning when they said Korean/French? (Same can be said for every country.)

But in saying that, would you consider someone who was a child of a white English person and a white French person mixed RACE? That doesn't mean that the child doesnt have a mixed hertiage or cultural/national background.....but theyre still white. that is to say, the kid in my example is neither biracial nor mixed race, but has a mixed cultural background. This is applicable to Chinese/Korean/japanese mixes. But of course its really a matter of perspective i guess.

Okay American is not an ethnicity it's a nationality. But I'm still confused about Vernon because while he does look Korean he still does have some western features. Is he full Korean or is he half Korean half "White" or a different ethnicity? Again "American" is NOT and ETHNICITY.

when it just says American it usually means white, if he was half African American or Japanese American they would almost always use the hyphen. Just like if an Nigerian born in Korea had a kid with someone they would probably use Korean-born Nigerian to describe him. American with no hyphen means white.

Well he' not officially an Idol per say but he is making an impact on mixed race Koreans and helping them but Hines Ward can be in some terms an Korean Citizen'' since he was born in Korea and his mother is Korean and his father is an African 'American. He's very proud of his Korean Roots as he has his name as it would be spelled in Korean tattooed on his arm and is a major Ambassador to Korea on getting people to accept people of Korean and non Korean roots and is big time into showing that to the youth and helping them in the world. he has a line i think that goes something like this that he uses a lot. "If the country can accept me for who I am and accept me for being a Korean, I'm pretty sure that this country can change and accept you for who you are." He does have a point of that. Koreans like him even though he mixed and he is a Korean American.

Latino is NOT a RACE. That's like saying what category North Americans fall under. A south American can be white from Spain/Portugal-European settlers, black from African slaves, or Ameri-Indian natives of the land. For example, you have Brazilians that look like model Gisele Bundchen or soccer player Fabiana Claudino.
