    20,300 kms here in South Australia, still loving the bike, and enjoying your report. I can clear up the average consumption 'issue', as I had this problem. The average consumption is continuous as it comes, and is 'zeroed' by cancelling Trip B. If you don't use the Trip A and B function (I don't) the consumption continues trying to average the consumption, and after about 4,500 kms it cannot do this, and goes to a reading of 299.9L/km.
    So essentially the average consumption needs to be zeroed before 4,500 kms is covered. I have managed to zero mine, using the handbook instructions, and mine now starts fresh for every ride. Not sure how I did that, but it suits me like that. (The shop had zeroed it for me before then). But the average consumption reading 'going haywire' is actually because it hasn't been zeroed, and cannot reconcile all the numbers after a certain mileage.
    I hope that clears that up. I find the consumption being 'fresh' for each ride quite useful, but it doesn't 'hold' the reading - it really is a new average each ride. It starts at a high number, and quickly settles down to 3.3 - 4.0 with gentle riding within a few kilometres. The 299.9L reading annoyed me until I understood why it happened.

    Good summary man! I have done 12.000km since May this year and I'm extremely happy with the Transalp. By any chance do you have dyno charts before and after the remap? I also have HP Corse exhaust and was wondering if remap is worth it, BTW what values you have seen before the remap? high 80s HP or value as stated by Honda official website 91HP ? I don't want to lose the guarantee though, so still considering the remap.
    Cheers
    Piotr

      Hello and thanks for the comment. I have no charts, I am looking for a proper dyno to make the charts there. Is was only a STAGE 1 remapp, to keep the warranty. The results are pretty good, but keep in mind that I have also a K&N air filter that allows more air to get in. You can expect the following: more stable idle, better acceleration response, significanly reduced missfire, a little bit more power.

    Just on the fuel consumption itself - of course this is affected by revs, which gear, uphills and wind direction. In ideal conditions using mostly 6th gear, I have averaged 3.9L/100 kms at 110 kmh, but a headwind changes that to 4.1 - 4.2L. But if the tank is filled right to the top (about 1L extra) and achieving 3.9 - 4.0 the tank will go 400 kms. Of course using lower gears and higher revs increases this consumption, but normal 'legal' speeds should yield 400 kms/tank, which is quite a useful range out here, with no fuel available nearby.
    But when riding easy dirt roads, and averaging 80 - 90 kmh in mainly 6th gear, the average consumption can get as low as 3.2L/100 - an amazing economy. And for those who haven't checked their speedo against a GPS, 106 on the speedo equals 100 kmh. 53 = 50, and 117 = 110. Important to know in these days of 'high-tech policing'.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  5 дней назад +1

      That's true. Also the outside temperature is a big factor. Starting from autumn the fuel consumption may increase a bit. I think also the CHAIN adjustment makes some influence, a very loose chain may contribute to a bigger fuel consumption (just a self presumption)

      Mine does 200km

    • @patkennedy1
      @patkennedy1 4 дня назад +1

      @@jnano2071 To a tank? That's not much - you must be using the revs a fair bit. But travelling on open roads, around the speed limit in 6th, with the tank topped right up, you CAN get 400 from a tank. But obviously that involves riding economically. I guess with a fast sports bike I don't feel so inclined to use the Honda that way - it is not in that role for me. Of course you can ride yours exactly as you want! But the Transalp has a bit of a 'split personality'; up to 5,000 RPM, or above 6,000 RPM! It's like two different engines. Obviously I am tending to stay below 5,000 to get this economy.

      @Luk4s7St 2 дня назад +1

      80-90km/h on 6th gear? I almost never put it riding less that 120km/h. Below that bike has no power to accelerate and really struggles. I use 4th gear between 60-90km/h then 5th till 120km/h. This gives a bit of confidence I can accelerate if needed relatively smoothly. Especially needed in dense traffic.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  2 дня назад +2

      @Luk4s7St Usually I ride economically at maximum 3500 rpm. That's about 95 - 100 Km/h in 6th gear

    Unde ai făcut remaparea?
    As vrea sa fac și eu la nc750x, i am montata o toba sport și filtru sport și cred ca ar fii necesar
    Transalp ul e motorul pt care as schimba și eu nc ul deși as prefera o roata de 19 pe fata pt ca nu intenționez sa merg mult pe offroud
    Poate pe viitor Honda o sa scăpată și un model mai de strada cu au făcut cei de la Suzuki cu V stromul de 800

    As an XL700 owner i must say the 750 is a big disappointment for me. You have to get to Africa Twin costs level to make this bike do the things it's supposed to do. Mediocre suspension, tubes, dirt protection, air protection, travel comfort, no c.c everything needs upgrading from day one. My Xl700 stock suspension is by far the worst i have ever driven in any bike i had or did a test ride and downgrades the whole package. I hope the stock 750 isn't that bad. On the other hand if you make all the upgrades you get a good package with good build quality and a very nice engine. Your Transalp is close to ideal now!

    Nice video. Thank you for making it.
    Unforunately in N.America we only get 83 hp..
    I have never wanted cruise control on any motorcycle. I am not a whimp. LOL
    If I turn the front wheel all the way to the right or left then the rear tire is off the floor when the bike is on the centre stand. This is since I replaced only the tires.
    I am trying the MotoZ Adventure tires as I found the original Karoo tires to not be good off-road with stock suspension.
    Most if not all bikes for legal reasons have the bike reset to the ABS "On" when the ignition key is turned to off. The ABS keeps the setting if the bike is stopped via the Kill Switch only.
    Have no issue with my 2024 Transalp. No issue with the dash.
    I have the OEM heated grips. They are good, not great, not as good as heated grips on snowmobiles.
    Love my Hepco and Becker skidplate and lower crash bar. Quallity products.
    Looking forward to upgrading the suspension. Presently I replaced the fork oil with a higher viscosity oil (36 to 46 @ 40 degrees C) which by itself improved it but I still cannot get the proper front and rear sags with acceptable suspension action.
    I have done oil & filter changes without removing the skidplate.
    I typically also do oil & filter changes at 5,000 kms (initial at 1,000 & 5,000 kms) on all my street going bikes.
    After the 1st air filter change it was not a long time (it was much faster) to get to the filter the next time.

    As to the ABS and TC coming back on when the bike is switched off and back on? I believe this is a legal requirement in some markets, such that it is compulsory to have ABS and TC engaged at all times, unless intentionally (temporarily) switched off for off-road.
    I understand they have changed this system on the new 2025 model, but I haven't ridden that model yet. So it is not so much a "Honda mistake" as Honda trying to comply with the law in some markets. Hopefully the new model's solution is better than this tedious system on our 2023 models, as the bike 'comes to life' off-road with those switched off.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  5 дней назад +1

      I am not sure if they fixed this for 2025, nothing heard about that. We just need to wait and see. Legal is also Yamaha Tenere 700 that is sold in Europe and has a on/off button for that. Legal is just to have ABS available, it's depends on the user when and where he uses it or not

    • @patkennedy1
      @patkennedy1 4 дня назад +1

      @@IdealBike Yes I believe they have changed the ABS to an easier system for 2025, with a different LH handlebar switch, but it remains to be seen if it is an improvement. The 'one button system' like the Tenere would be better. But I understand some markets require the ABS to be on as a default setting. We don't have that requirement here in Australia, but of course as a small market we get what the larger markets mandate.

      No buttoms, after this sessions I've adjusted the preload and compression for both rear and front, the initial settings were not adjusted for jumping. Greetings
