Philippine team is good. They are good as individual players. They also have a good small players. But as a Fil-am here in the states, all we really want is for our home country to makes it in the Olympics. I hope the Philippine coach and officials will come to realize that to compete in the international level you do not just need good guards, you need tall good guard. They have to get on with the times. Nowadays, tall guards 6'4 min and as tall as 6'10 who can handle the ball and shoot from the outside. Please somebody there send this message. If this is not possible due our natural size as Filipinos - then maybe we are so passionate and spending so much time on a sports that is not meant for us Filipinos. Perhaps maybe we should be looking at some other team sport that do not require size and height. I am not saying we should stop playing sports we love - This is only for the sake of making noise in the international level.

You want to be better . . you play with and against the very best and be coached by the best. I believe he wanted to be the biggest fish in the small pond. I would love to see Filipinos move up to the next level but it will not happen if they do not have the proper training, coaching and the discipline to be up the next level. Though Filipinos lack the height, they make it up with the talent. Now with "small ball" which is what a lot of the team wants to play, Filipinos could do well.
