  • WE ARE FINALLY BACK INSIDE THE HOUSE BUILD!
On this week's episode we are INDOORS at THE HOUSE BUILD!
Lee shows us where he's up to with his stone capping for Papa G and his planters. The Greenhouse is now pretty much complete with granite work tops fitted and sink/tap plumbed in. The downstairs and upstairs fire places are also complete so Lee shows us them whilst having a little rant about his favourite company Stannar!

Window boxes should be done white especially if the rest of the woodwork was white , you created quite a nice feature and then want to " hide " it within the wall colour , it needs to be in contrast even if only slightly , of course i dont know what colour you are painting the walls or the rest of the woodwork . If i was painting the walls white it could be worth thinking about painting the boxes the same colour as the windows for a more defined contrast , just an idea . Those skirtings are a similar concept to what i painted in a Ferrari dealership quite a while back apart from it was two plain MDF skirtings with no grooves with about a half an inch step at the top , it looked nice to be fair cant remember having seen it before , not sure how its going to look with the grooves like you have shown or whether you were just giving an idea on what you had planned . Interesting , shame your not based in Devon id come and give you a hand 😀. Good luck

Hi @bartley7953 thank you for your words of wisdom! We'll definitely be giving this a go, I agree with loosing the feature on the window boxes, something we definitely do want visible! I will have to confer with Mrs. Gilbert and see what colours she wants to go for. As for the skirting board, I'm pretty sure we are going for the two similar profiles shown in the video, the lower, most forward profile will actually sit a little higher than shown in the video as it will eventually be sat on our Oak Flooring. I don't think I've come across much in terms of 'double skirting' - an idea put forward by Wayne Bolton the Builder that we've decided to go for as we don't want the floor laid before the house gets painted :)
