The UK Government has announced a new tax on farm inheritance, which will come into effect in April 2026. The tax will be levied at a rate of 20% on the value of any farm or agricultural land that is passed on to heirs. This is a significant increase from the current rate of 12% The Government says that the new tax is necessary to raise revenue and to help fund public services. However, farmers...

    Hi Lee i watched the above video followed by the one with a guided tour of the workshop , I like yourself had massive reservations about changing from the eternit Big 6 to the néw Farmtec profile but i can say how pleased we have been with the new product in so many respects , The pallets are better , its easier to walk on when its laid and the detail of the side lap with the small element of adjustment enables you keep the tiers straighter without having to pull out of lap as with the big 6 profile , The small amount of additional cover width means when you get to fitting 30 tiers you’ve effectively got an extra one against the big 6 as it’s a little over 3 percent wider , this also helps when you have a building on 20’ bays with big columns as with the old profile 6 you would be a little shy of the ends if all bay crs are 20’ , but best of all is the ridges as these don’t need mitred and fit so much better than the profile 6 and don’t tend to creep and fit so much more snug , Apparently a 2950 sheet will be available soon so you can achieve the specified end lap with 1372 mm purlin spaces

    Depending on if you have your own kit too . Counted last year the materials, diesel, disposal, wear and tear (our kit has mostly finished depreciating) are under half of what it would cost to get a contractor in to do loose silage, without building the pit. But that doesn't count the labour of 2 of us at it baling.

    All of the water in the sky is out of the back of an aircraft engine, everyday, it's not new and it's very real. I know an unbelievable amount about this subject, the rain is made, it's not chemtrails that's a psyop what you are seeing is water, the water is already there but not dense enough to make clouds, the engine compressed the atmosphere within and it's exhaust is water.. They are not commercial aircraft and it's not really cloud seeing, it's literally cloud making, this subject is massive and I can't go on anymore,, if you think this is all to much what if told you the engine actually runs on the air that it consumes and needs no fuel, yes air burns when compressed enough and the waist product is water,, it's time to wake up. Don't bother writing back with stupid shit I am way above that.. Thanks

    Bales are only cost effective at the back end and spring time when cattle are out but you might want to keep them out longer or build reserves after that no point unless you have surplus you want to sell. Pit is far more cheaper and more consistent in quality throughout if sealed correctly cheaper again if you do your own pit. But bales doing yourself aren't cheap no matter what way you do it. Just all depends on how much work you're willing to actually do to save money and the more you do the greater the difference between the two is noticeable and each individual has to justify that to themselves and there operation for me pit all day long forget about bales but I'm prepared to do the work because it's hard to find 10k in farming 😂better to have it than looking for it

      We did look at loading through the gateway but it was at one of the lowest points in the field and it was on a blind bend so we thought best to park the tractors up on the highest points of the field and load there. I can remember watching something on TV years ago where Jeremy Clarkson went to one of these cloud making machines! I didn't know Sydney got flooded! :O Thank you very much! Clamp is always cheaper for volume , and quicker to feed out , bales are far more transportable , and useful for grassland management, as well as spreading the weather risk , Bite the bullet , and put in a dedicated hardstanding for the bales ,if their well packed, chopped bales you should be able to stack up to 4, high without a major problem.. it takes up land , but so does a Pitt and the apron in front of it ,

  • @teamidris
    @teamidris 2 месяца назад

    Aha, yes. It’s about transport. You use the clamp for local fields and bales for far away fields. (Depending on your farm layout) Because you can call the bales off all winter if they are on a concrete pad.

      Lovely looking shed. Just wondering why steel purlins are being used in agricultural sheds a lot now in England instead of timber. We would never use them here in NI as they rot like hell in a few years especially around the bolt holes. Unless you can get them proper hot dip galvanised?

      @@mikeysky8917 Hi Mikey! The cold rolled purlins we use are a pre-hot dipped galvanised steel. Depending on the spec of the shed, we do still use timber purlins and sheeting rails but cold rolled is a superior, longer lasting product
