FOIA request vs Motion for Discovery......apples and oranges! A Motion for Discovery has to be drafted in a way that complies with the Court proceedings/rules and delivered to the other side. A FOIA request can be used by a pro se defendant to obtain information for trial. You DO NOT send a FOIA request to opposing counsel, the Court OR the Judge! If you do not understand how the law works or how the Courts work....GET A LAWYER! If you insist on representing yourself, do the research required to LEARN the rules/laws. Good grief! People think they can walk into Court the day of trial and talk their way through it. It doesn't work that way. I represented myself in Family Court for child support issues, but, I knew what I was doing! (PS. I won the case....against my ex and his attorney!) lol
