    I DID IT!
For an entire year I grew and foraged 100% of my food. No grocery stores, no restaurants, not even a drink at a bar.
Nature has been my garden, my pantry and my pharmacy. Here's the story of my year: ruclips.net/video/nX4kq4QfYRA/видео.html

Hi Rob! Really admirable what u r doing. I watch another youtuber who actually do the same as u did. Here's a link to her channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCoC47do520os_4DBMEFGg4A
She does everything, from planting and growing everything she cooks herself, to even making her own furnitures and clothes.. maybe u can also check her out.

Nice idea! My recommendation is "do what you can" and don't worry about what you can't. Many people give up because they "can't do much". Just remember, if you can say "I can't do much" it means you "Can do some"

Regarding your heat/fermentation issue, get yourself a good sized cooler, dig a hole in the ground line it with stone and put the cooler inside and fill with your jars. A piece of plywood works well for a cover. A rock will keep the plywood in place, I think you will be happy with the coolness it would provide

I am amazed that you are showing most of the plants that we grew in the farm while I was growing up. Your video simply summarized the effort my father has gone through in feeding us. He was a farmer and we grew our food. Now, I am trying to grow my vegetables and some of my fruits: papaya, dragon fruit, pomelo, lanzones, guayabano. Thank you for the videos that you have shared so far. I found them to be a source of inspiration (telling me that other people are caring for the earth too), and a source of guidance (difficulty has some solution and normally, the solution comes from people who have faced them). Good luck. More blessings!

Michelle Lockett probably because the powers that be don’t want to be sued if someone were to claim that they got sick from eating fruit from their trees. They would most likely use pesticides, etc which may cause problems for some people. Just a guess. (Oh, and I can just imagine all the cores/skins/remains of the fruit thrown on the ground! Lol)

Great stuff Rob! .... but please, up that saltmaking game, you'll enjoy it. Boil until the first salts settle (calcium sulphate are the needle ones and calcium carbonate is the powdery bit). Pour off the brine and let that evaporate slower so that nice flaky NaCl crystals have time to form. Scoop them off and eventually discard the liquid at the end (called bittern, it is bitter, and has various salts and other chemicals that worsen flavour).

Amazing dude. I have been following along your path for awhile. I tell people all the time how you traveled across the country on your bike and never threw out a piece of trash. Your projects are amazing and inspiring! Cheers from Chicago!
