2 extra Armor made a difference. Melee attack Hastati are better at 7 vs 5. Defense Skill, Shield, and Morale are the same. Yet Hastati were dying really fast once they ran into the spearwall to the point that it was a joke.
That was entirely because of the stupid bug that causes some units to just stand still than run aimlessly on contact with other units on Huge unit size. Notice it's when they have that idle animation right before running where they start dying extremely quick. It happened to both Triarii, Early Legionary Cohort, and Early Legionary first cohort. The others either did not do it, did only a little bit and did not waste too much time, or were so tough it did not affect them much.
Because Phalanx formation adds a secret plus 2 to morale when on. It was revealed in the game files hence why even Milita Hoplites can last longer than most tier 1 infantry units so long as they are facing the enemy frontally.
This just proves that Huge unit size is terrible for testing 1v1 because not only does it greatly effect certain units to the point they come off far stronger than they do in campaign, but it also makes other worse for that stupid random running bug that causes more casualties than necessary for many units. I really do not care about the "spectacle" since we are just seeing 1v1 units or small armies at a time so I really wish you tested with at least large instead.
Wow, to see Auxilia outperform Hastatis like this was quite the sight.

Yea, that was quite impressive :) Thanks for the comment.

Not surprising, but for such low morale the hoplites stood ground for longer than expected. Cheers.
Agreed, they seem to be able to hold the line rather nicely :) Thanks for the comment.

Guess the lack of good stamina made the hoplites break easier compared to early cohort
Agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
Hoplites are strong, but Marion reforms are stronger.
Тяжёлые гоплиты всегда будут убивать Римлян до реформ😅)
Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.
Strange that mercenary hoplites are always looked for by other factions but their own faction just ditch them asap for armored hoplites
Indeed. Though, the merc variant looks cooler imo :) Thanks for the comment.
Can a full upraded pijama boys beat someone?
I think they can. I guess that has to be tested :) Thanks for the comment.
Theyd most likely beat every stock non phalanx spear unit in the game. Equipment upgrades are crazy strong

Thanks for the comment. Yea, the huge unit size tends to effect especially phalanx battles :)
One of the worst unit in multiplayer. That 440 gold is always better spent elsewhere.
Thanks for the comment. I can see that as most of the units in MP seem to be the elite ones :)
