    I am so excited to see this video!!! I have been using wide margin journaling PDFs of the scriptures for 3 years in GoodNotes ❤, this year is #4. They are my joy and treasures! I add pictures and charts (John Welch’s charts from BOM Central). I separate the scriptures into the weekly CFM lessons and I usually average about 50 pages per lesson. I print them out by the month and have each month bound at a copy store. I print them because I want to preserve them for a future time when we do not have power anymore, i.e. the last days 😅. I have “converted” a few friends to this study process too. I am handicapped and spend a lot of time laying down, I can conveniently study and mark my scriptures while laying on my couch or in bed ❤. Thanks again for this video!

    Brother Dunford, I have really appreciated your efforts to introduce Good Notes to us. I love the scriptures. Oh how I would love to be able to browse your Good Notes.💜After I mark my scriptures, I often wonder, what special insights or gems have I missed. Maybe you would please consider sharing some of your scripture gem insights or even a video of some of your discoveries with us. Can you imagine being able to browse our prophets scriptures😊?

    This video was inspired! I am a busy, full time nursing student and working full time with two kids. I LOVE my paper scriptures and love to mark/notate as I read. But not having my scriptures readily available when I have the moment to read has made scripture study inconsistent and less meaningful. I already use GoodNotes for school! I am so excited to implement this new strategy to improve my accessibility and consistency with feeding my spirit. I needed this! Thank you!!

    This is an interesting solution to a “nagging issue” with the gospel library app.
    I’ve found that since I started following your podcast that I’ve started dropping “essays” based on the show notes you produce. They sort of get in the way when you’re trying to read a verse in class. Putting them in a call-out box in the margin would be great.

    • @talkingscripture
      @talkingscripture  8 месяцев назад

      In good notes, you press and hold anywhere on the page and will give you an option to add a comment. That’s where you enter your essay.

    I'm one of the old fashioned with the book, mingled with digital scripture, so to speak. I keep thinking about Amos 8:11 and a famine of hearing the Word of God. With the ability of corrupt people to digitally alter, always have a hard copy of the scriptures so you'll survive the famine.

    I use tags extensively in the Gospel Library app. Would this solution have anything like that where I can tag verses and then access my collection of tags and find all of my tagged verses for a specific tag?

    • @talkingscripture
      @talkingscripture  8 месяцев назад

      It depends on what app you use. The way I do that is to mark each verse with the same tag and then search for that tag. GoodNotes can search your hand written notes. It’s still a pdf, so it won’t pull all the tags out of the document and put them together. But you can find each one.

    Thank you for your video. It helped a lot, I suffer from dyslexia, and I’ve always wanted scriptures that I could expand on my iPad and make notes on it like you would any PDF.
    So I took your advice and downloaded the BOM, it showed a cute little blue book, saying BOM on it, but then I went back to download the other books and I couldn’t get the front page identifying the books. It went immediately into the index ect, and I’m not sure why, can you help me figure it out I do like the look of a little book in my Goodnotes program. Thank you very much Mrs. Bingham.>

    Who woulda thunk it???? I have become completely digital using gospel library for the last decade or so, but I do miss several of the features you suggest are available in a note taking app. I usually use evernote for this in my regular life, but I don't think it has as many editorial options like the one you're using. I love the option to use stickers which I miss from my paper scripture days. Also glue-ins.... any tips on how to do them? I really like being able to go directly to the footnotes and links in gospel library. Are you able to do that?

    I like making notes in the margins. How do you do something like that? For instance, in his book, Jesus Christ, the Key to Salvation, Gerald Lund wrote a great chapter on Lehi’s explanation of the plan of Salvation. I copious notes from that in my scriptures. I get a lot from it, every t8me I read that chapter. Is it possible to make notes like that? I’m currently using a journal edition of the Book of Mormon to facilitate that kind of note taking.

    • @talkingscripture
      @talkingscripture  8 месяцев назад

      I type and write notes into my margins all the time. The advantage is, I can use very small font and fit more in the margin. I can also add a blank page after that page and include more notes.

    • @mgoimarac
      @mgoimarac 8 месяцев назад

      In Goodnotes, if you touch the margin, it will open up a comment box and you can type a comment in which can then compress or expand, similar to a note in the LDS gospel library app.

      Also, good notes for android is only available for samsung tablets (which I have) but if you are writing with the stylus and touch the screen with your hand, it thinks you want to open a new comment and locks up. You then have to exit and start again.
      It should not have been taken out of beta, it's so buggy. I'd wait a few more months for android.

      No offense intended, but to a non-LDS such as I, it comes across as stuffy and out-of-date. A more relaxed, less formal attire would draw more interest from people who are more interested in the Word than appearance. It's a distraction and a barrier. But maybe LDS don't care what those outside their faith think. Each to their own.
