I would call this a "cosmetic restoration". Reminds me alot of what Mitchell's mauser did to k98ks back in the day. Hopefully you atleast didn't stamp any new numbers.
the H band was put on backwards. That hook on the bottom goes towards the rear not the front. BUT.... your bluing technique is impressive. Ive used Oxphoblue and it just doesn't get as dark perma blue did for you.
Haha i noticed that and knew something was off, got it all fixed though! Stay tuned for my rust bluing video coming out tomorrow, the actual proper way to blue and achieve that dark black finish we all love
Your theory is flawed. Just because someone on GunBroker buys a gun that you restored doesn’t mean that they’re an expert or a collector. it just means you got some sucker to buy a gun that you’ve probably taken too far. Just saying.
No it doesn’t, I restore neglected left to rust guns, not true battle wear weapons. I clearly state that these have been restored. The people that purchase them are those that want a factory like new version of the gun without paying thousands of dollars for, which there is a demand for.
@@Surplus_RestorationI agree as a poor college student who still has an appreciation for these rifles I would like to be able to get my hands on something that’s functional and beautiful without having to spend +2k.
as a first video this is actually quite impressive
Nice work dude!
Amazing video…

How's the bore ??
Oven cleaner pulls all the grease out of the wood , wash in a baking soda and water bath after.
