It's just Ukrainian is a direct descendant of ancient slavic language and has much more commonalities with it compared to ruzzian. In fact ruzzian as empire has much more "invasive" words from German, French, Turkick and Fino-Ugrik languages but based on Rusin language (ancient slavic) Even modern Ukrainian was changed indirectly because of the artificial dependence from metropolitan state and directly by such examples as official ban on Ukrainian (Ems Ukaz) and changing the phonetics in 1933 that made Ukrainian sound and spelled more like ruzzian.

As Ukrainian fully confirm the main idea of the video. The pronunciations are fine, anyway western world recieved them form moscow empire, the same as we call on our language western cities differently. NO doubt, I would prefer you to call it kYiv, but anyway you don't have this Y phoneme and would not be able to replicate it correctly, you would probable make the E sound familiar to your language perception. Narrative is pro-Ukrainian 100%. Cheers, mate

In the 15th century the biggest part of Ukraine was ruled by Lithuanian-Rus' dukes, the official language was old Ukrainian - Rus'ka, do not mix with current russian. All laws and rules were used as they were in Rus'. The south capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Rus' was in Lutsk, Volyn'. The dukes on the Rus' territories had also the title of kings. Which was lasting since 13th century.

@@ukrainevolynhistory6692Im sorry but this is pure propaganda, Russia did not steal anything.
Russia (Muscovy) emerged from the "kievan" Rus principality of Vladimir Suzdal in which Moscow at the time was a small irrelevant place in the area.
Kiev had its time as did Novgorod (the FIRST capital of Rus in modern day Russia), but all the Rus principalities in the Ukrainian areas all lost their Rurikid dynasty line, while Russia despite years of Mongol occupation maintained their Rurikid dynasty all the way up until the Russian time of troubles in which the Romanovs took over as replacement, so if anything Russia was the ONLY true evolution of "kievan" Rus.
It started in Novgorod, then to Kiev (through Olegs travels) and then to Moscow.
