I was feeling pretty hopeless today. I am physically, mentally, and emotionally depleted. But in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight archive, Dalinar says "The most important step a man can take. It's not the first one, is it? It's the next one. Always the next step." My next step was sitting at the piano, hoping to get another message to publish today. At first the steps are halting, staggering, barely holding it together. But if you keep taking the next step you gain momentum. You start getting the inspiration, the connection, the meaning you are seeking until you're not just walking but running.
