I had some experience with Motion Capture for video games and gotta admit even though Namco has always created a seriously fluid and accurate movement animations and overall choreography for Tekkens in the past, (I think they were using MoCap before it was industry standard) They outdid themselves this time. Ps. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

She kept referring being whole resilient while garou kept fighting heroes and forced his own body to turn into monster,maybe thate what Reina was going for? To force herself into awakening devil gene from taking kazuyas attacks?

Jin and xiaoyu were best friends in high school before heihachi betrayed jin in Tekken 3. She has been trying to find him all this time and through the games its clear she has since fallen for jin. As for jin himself he always cared about her as the one closest to him besides his mom, but didnt want to put her in danger after he commited himself to destroying the devil gene and the rest of the mishimas who he considers the root of all the evil. Especially heihachi and kazuya and himself. You have to play through every characters story and endings of every game to puzzle piece all the lore together but it fits decently well.
Funny thing is I was thinking the same thing after Jun showed up at the end. He going to get the Vegeta treatment and probably a character development 😂 it’s going to be weird seeing him being a good guy 🤣

Since Reina called Jin "Senpai" (which used to call an upperclassmen), I'm sure that Jin and Xiaoyu are both Reina's senpai. Or you could say that they're alumnuses of the Mishima Polytechnic Highschool if I remember the school's name correctly.
What I think is so cool is the fact that the whole Reina thing has been built up to for so long. Heihachis experiment on genetic manipulation and the devil gene itself. His experiments on Nina and Steve. It has all led up to Reina being a lab baby of Heihachis with the devil gene, which was never in his family to begin with
Did you notice Jun walking in the background when you were playing as Devil Jin to break the chains on Jin? Also yeah, if you noticed during the final fight against Kazuya, Jin was cycling through all of his fighting styles (Mishima-style Karate and Kazama-style Martial Arts). A remix of his old theme from Tekken 3 even played during the second phase (you should give both versions a listen to, they are bangers), and he was pretty much using them in tandem with his own style. Fun Fact: The background music playing during Jin's fight against his Devil form in the second round was Jin's boss theme in Tekken 6, and that was his stage in that same game.

The final battle is so cool. Especially if you’ve played Tekken 3 Jin. For some reason you got a glitch during that where Jin’s flashbacks during the “press x for not denying your existence” sequences are just black screens lol.

Tekken games don't always start off with a father fighting a son, but thats usually how they end. Or grandson in the case of 3. (Heihachi used a gun, but that counts, right?) And I guess great grandson in 5 "Heihachi awakened it in the first place" yeah... but he did that by shooting him
I really recommend playing through story with assist mode, or at least swapping to it each battle to mess around. because something like angel jin has some dope as moves and the game doesn't give you access to a move list.
The dynasty warriors gameplay has actually been in tekken since like 3- but it was a dedicated game mode called tekken force. It's so cool, I highly recommend checking out the older tekken games if you have the time

Kazuya and Jin actually work together as father an son to face Reina. Heihachi obviously would try to take back control. There would obviously still be beef between him and Kaz. The new central goal for all 3 of them is to purge the evil of the D-Gene from the world.
Hi Kieran, for Tekken 7, I recommend just the character episodes of Steve, Xiaoyu, Hwoarang and especially Miguel. Those are the ones who have some kind of significance to the characters and will answer some questions. The rest are kinda fluffy and nothing noteworthy happens, but Jack's ending is one of the funniest.

Hoping for a Kazuya redemption arc, he deserves it! Kazuya always being the bad guy was retconned. He was never simply good but he was NOT bad either. He was an antihero character. It seems to me those who believe he’s undeserving of a redemption arc are those who came in post T6 with the retconned storyline. Kazuya wouldve never turned evil had it not been for Heihachi throwing him off that cliff. Jun, someone who literally hails from a family of healers and purity, to procreate with a man that literally had the devil inside him surely had to see some good past all his hurt, trauma, and need for revenge. Rooting for him to get a rebrand and be the father he never had to Jin in T9!! *fingers crossed* cause they always do him dirty 😅

angel jin uses sword attacks combo too.. a lot of people missed that, and also shoots beams from his chest too.

Did youw atch the "SPECIALS" videosat the start when you first time play TEKKEN 8? Maybe that's the reason why you had a black screen in some of the cutscenes that has the "flashback" effect

If Reina is somewhat comparable to Heihachi & Kazuya has had a rough time fighting him even with devil powers, based on what I saw in Tekken 7, then Reina with devil powers is absolutely a problem. Hoping for a Kazuya redemption arc, he deserves it! Kazuya always being the bad guy was retconned. He was never simply good but he was NOT bad either. He was an antihero character. It seems to me those who believe he’s undeserving of a redemption arc are those who came in post T6 with the retconned storyline. Kazuya wouldve never turned evil had it not been for Heihachi throwing him off that cliff. Jun, someone who literally hails from a family of healers and purity, to procreate with a man that literally had the devil inside him surely had to see some good past all his hurt, trauma, and need for revenge. Rooting for him to get a rebrand and be the father he never had to Jin in T9!! *fingers crossed* cause they always do him dirty 😅
