- I'm a big boy, I can admit this is the first time I've driven a Mustang. We're looking at the 2020 Ford Mustang GT Convertible from a first time driver's perspective.

The Ford Mustang has been in production for 55 years, over 6 generations. It truly is the most iconic American car ever made, and we're behind the wheel of a prime example as we get into fall weather here in Québec. Our full tour and review is on this 2020 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Premium. We go over everything potential buyers would want to know if this is the first Mustang they'd be buying and how it compares with the Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Challenger we've driven on TestDrive. Our Mustang GT comes well equipped with highly recommended features such as the 401A equipment group, Active Valve Performance Exhaust, 10-speed automatic transmission, adaptive cruise control, and the 12-speaker B&O audio system.
We discuss the various Mustang trims available for 2020 such as the 2.3L EcoBoost and the Shelby GT350 and GT500 and why you might consider either of them along with this GT Convertible. We go over the Coyote V8 engine, fully independent rear suspension, and the available options and packages on the Ford Mustang.
We take the 2020 Ford Mustang GT convertible on a road test to talk about how this car performs, handles, drives, and rides compared to over convertibles we've driven in this size segment, and how the different drive modes work, such as the Sport+ of MyMode, along with the Line Lock feature built into the race options for the Mustang.

Just bought my first Mustang, so I was a first time driver too. Long time Corvette owner, but wanted a 2020 convertible. Love this this car. Great review brother.
Good choice, enjoy it!
Such a beautiful spec and an awesome review! 👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you like it! I'm really happy with the way this one was optioned, though I would have liked to see what the MagneRide felt like.
what a legendary car .. Love the colour .. boy that exhaust noise music to my ears great review mate thanks for sharing
I loved that exhaust sound, so good!
The Most fun I’ve ever had diving over the past 42 years was my 1986 3 cyl. Chevy Sprint! What a tossible little car I put over 40K on that car as my winter beater and still loved it in the summer but I bought it so my Fox Body 1986 MUSTANG GT CONV. 5.0 with a 5 Speed Red with White Top Red Interior would not be driven in salt or bad roads. The 2 cars I loved driving the most that gave me NO issues the whole time I owned them. The Mustang got more Attention than any of my other new cars, and classic cars.
Thanks for sharing! I spotted an 80's Chevy Sprint a couple months back, blue paint and looked to be in pretty decent shape. Can't imagine many of them exist anymore.
Best part get V8 with manual base for md 30s. Can’t beat the analog experience of V8 NA and manual in anything else.
Definitely true! Pricing in the US is probably a lot better than it is here, as they only offer the GT Premium trim in Canada, and not the entry trim we can get with the EcoBoost.
You earned a sub just for admission this was your first driving experience with the mustang
Glad to hear that. Plenty of RUclipsrs or other content creators out there like to pretend they’re experts on everything. I’m never shy to be genuine.
Still I believe there are lots of customers preferring practicality opting for a sport coupe SUV Mustang Mach E which happens to be electric but is supposed to be peppy as well!
It might end up Ford not being able to manufacture enough of it.
I'm certainly curious to see how the Mach-E does, there's a lot of demand out there for electric cars that aren't just weird compact 4 doors but something with a bit of spunk. Considering Ford has had a number of electric vehicles that never really took off it'll be a bit of a gamble overall since they don't have as much experience in the electric world as some other manufacturers.
Great video! I love my Mustang GT! And it is for the power and amenities you cant beat the price! Great bang for your buck!
Agreed!
I've driven the turbo and v8 both automatic hardtop. I was really surprised how stable and planted the rear was as I rounded a clover leaf and entered the highway. V8 sounded great. My 1st time driving both Mustang too.
I was really impressed with the handling based on the stigmas surrounding Mustang handling in the past.
I was surprised of the handling too. The only negative I felt was my lower back started to ache. I have a lower lumbar insert in my cars, but was working when I drove the Mustang's. I'm not a brand snob and had a wonderful time finally driving s Mustang even in automatic. I've driven stick since 95.
Man, you can tell you honestly enjoyed this car.
Hard not to!
I love my '18 performance pack Mustang.
Glad to hear it! I had a blast driving this around for a week, I can definitely see the appeal of it now!
Still loving my 18 PP1 after two years.
I bet that V8 sounds amazing with roof down
It sounded incredible! Best run I had was through the tunnel in Montreal when I picked it up, although it was raining so I had the roof up and didn't get the full experience.
Great review.
Glad you enjoyed it!
With all due respect, not driving a Mustang V8 (there is no other Mustang) is like not eating red meat 🤣. You are now a carnivore. The best thing, unlike BMws and Mercedes these still carry their character.
I'd definitely buy mine with the V8, either the GT or the Shelby, but I can see the appeal of the 2.3L EcoBoost, similar to my thoughts on the 2.0L Camaro I drove last year.
I'm a big guy, what did u think of the size. Is it cramped inside?
I was pretty comfortable as the driver, but you do notice it's tight. I found it was easier to get in/out of with the roof down. I didn't hate it though. Would I do a long road trip with this? Absolutely not. But as a fun weekend/daily driver absolutely!
@@PRNTestDrive Thank you. I'm in the market right now. But I don't want to go threw the whole sales thing just to see if I fit
my friend owns one in so cal and i have to say that I am fucking sold
Great place to own one!
Not even one word on the practicality of the roof, on a convertible?!
I mean, the whole video is a world on the practicality of it, considering I was able to drive a convertible in Québec during October, when it's typically near 0ºC weather.

I get your point, but the same would be possible for any other brand of car on the same day you had tested the Pony.
What I refer to by practicality is how fast the roof folds down and up, max speed of the car that you can possibly do this, the effect of the folding roof on the trunk capacity, known issues about the permeability, any leakage issues etc etc..
Anyhow, having watched lots of reviews on this very Pony, yours was one of the most sincere. Thanks!
erghh it's an automatic! Why would you get the automatic?!
Did you really pronounce it coo pay? Coupe "coop" -jeez
Only In America..
