I am sorry it didn't go as planned! Your vlogs are the reason I got my gastroparesis diagnoses and they are scheduling my port procedure. Thanks for doing this and being you! I also have POTS, EDS, and suspected mast cell, as well as several other issues.
My Drs call them Christmas Tree illnesses. The first and or most acute are the Tree.. After that as each DX happens, its hing on the tree. :) I started with Fibromyalgia.. all down hill from there LOL. My Tree is full people!
omg I read the title and panicked! I'm so glad you're okay and it was just a miscommunication. I'm also with Judd, I'm astounded they didn't have the one piece that you were there for??? Through and through, you always find a way to see the positives in everything and it's so uplifting. I'm sorry that they messed up because you were so excited :( I look forward to it all going well and according to plan in a month's time! ❤️❤️❤️
I don't understand how they didn't know this during the whole pre-op process. Thank God you asked before they put you under and to wait until you got to the OR to go over the options? That's ridiculous. You're a very forgiving person, so that admirable. However I would be livid lol. I should definitely work on my patience.
Christy In The Carolina's I had the same thoughts, exactly. I would've been like, "why am I here then? What were you guys going to do to me?" Bless Jaquie for her kind heart and patience. She inspires me to be a better person everyday.
Seriously. It makes me angry that they had her go in for pre-op and everything only to be told "oh sorry, we don't have it". Waste of her time and theirs.
That's so disappointing and I'm so sorry. But your positivity and kindness shines through everything, even when you aren't treated correctly. You are such a wonderful person and I really hope you get the button soon with no more complications, and best of luck with IVIG ❤
Yesterday I had my volleyball tryouts. She had her surgery yesterday. I have tryouts again today. I glad that you'll be getting later. I'm glad that you chose not to get another tube at that time. I'm glad that you're still safe and not sick. You look so much happier and less tired.
I'm so sorry, I know it's aggravating sometimes, most of the time truthfully, for people fighting chronic illnesses, but you keep me going, so thank you for helping me so much. To be honest, I've been really upset lately and I'm not suicidal, I don't want to kill myself necessarily but I wouldn't care either way, but you have brightened my life and made me realize that I can be sick, and live at the same time, I ordered my shirt, I was wondering how long it would take to get shipped, and also if you guys could sign it, i know you are all super busy, but it would mean the world to me.. I know you probably won't see this, but I just want you to know you are all incredible people and you're definitely someone to look up to. I hope you see this ♡
Chelsea Glitterlizard Depression sucks. I know what you mean about the way you're feeling. I hope you'll be able to find a good mental health team to help you out. I might have to change phycologist soon, since my insurance is a butthead. Hopefully the price won't go up too much so I don't have to switch. Stupid capatilist health care system, lol. I don't think Jacquie and Judd will be packaging and shipping the shirts themselves. I think they'll come straight from the company that prints them. So I don't think she'll be able to sign it for you.
wow, i just love how you're so positive in a situation that's very disappointing. i was waiting for you to get it to! but don't worry, you'll eventually get it, and good luck!
I'm so sorry things didn't go well/as planned! :-/ It can be so frustrating when something we are really counting on is delayed even more, especially since it's literally vital for survival. I do agree waiting for the GJ to come in is probably your best option, for insurance and health reasons re: anesthesia, but I hate you have to wait even longer. But you're absolutely right: that's life, chronic illness makes life even more unpredictable, and I'm glad you've got a plan in place, even though it means more waiting. Watching this this morning, after we had an appt with my chronic Lyme Dr yesterday, and they mentioned finally testing for gastroparesis and sphincter of oddi dysfunction, even though we've (included my doctors) clinically suspected them for several years, and we are waiting for a GI referral, because I have to be able to get a temporary tube placed, at least. Hopefully I won't have to be on it for long, so for now, we're planning to go the NJ route, which I had to use 2 summers ago due to an ileus. But I'm not able to get nutrition, or at least not nearly enough nutrition, to gain the weight I need to be able to finally start hardcore Lyme treatments, hopefully before the end of the year. Yay for IVIG!! I love your vlogs, and I LOVE the relationship you and Judd have, because my husband and I (I'm 28, he's 33), have been fighting my chronic illnesses almost the full duration of the 6 years we've been married, and while we were dating, but it wasn't completely debilitating until ~4.5 years ago. But I love the way Judd looks at you and is there with you through all of this-a major blessing for sure! I do have one question: you may have said I'm a video at some point, but I was wondering where you got your mask, because I have to wear heavy duty, but still disposable, masks, anytime I'm able to leave the house or anytime anyone comes over, due to very strong smell sensitivities/germs/etc. that send me into neurological flares. And I'm just getting tired of the blue/white/paper medical look.😜 Long comment, mostly to say: 1.)!love watching y'all, and 2.) could you share where you got your mask?💜
You mentioned about ileus... My daughter has CF. She presented at birth with SEVERE meconium ileus, and over the last 23 years has had Meconium Ileius Equivalent. I take it you have been able to rule out Celiacs? My husband couldn't handle it... after 14.5 years of marriage he literally walked out.. and wifed up his mistress.. Hated that I was a dependent and not able to work any longer....
How frustrating. Your positive outlook is so refreshing though. Its so easy to just be negative and be upset with the world but that doesn't really do any good. :) You'll get there eventually!
It's disappointing that you didn't get your new tube today, but you were so positive about it! I love your channel so much because of that! Have a great day 😘
I am so frustrated for you! My hubby battles several chronic illnesses too, and I have witnessed so many mis-steps during his medical care. I have become extra vigilant in terms of thinking ahead whenever he has a procedure. It's frustrating and seems that it shouldn't be that way, but it's the reality. I will say, I was super impressed with your positive attitude regarding the whole GJ-button debacle! 😽
Wow! The title to this video scared me! I'm so happy you're okay. I admire how optimistic you are about everything. I would be a bit angry if the doctor didn't have the right equipment, but you looked at the situation logically and knew you could have the surgery later. Thank you so much!
I think its crazy how you had a dream that you went into surgery and ended coming out with the same feeding tube! I always try to think that things like this happens for a reason.
Aww Jaquie I am bummed for you! It's crazy you dreamt that haha. I am sure it'll be worth the wait, and everything happens for a reason. Glad to see you're still positive❤
Harlow is a great service dog, you have trained her very well. So, glad your OK, surgical clerks do forget to order things everyday, especially things that aren't everyday items. Your OK and that's most important thing!! Take care pretty woman!!
I'm undergoing testing for autism and I deal very badly with the unexpected and change. You handle such things so amazingly, you are so strong! Really hope you get the button soon, and great news about IVIG :) Sending love to all of you from the UK x
I'm so sorry you didn't get the procedure done, they should have called you and spoken to one another so they could have let you not got through so much stress! However, it is great news about your IVIG keep smiling honey xxx
i like when you keep smiling, i do really need that, the smile you've shown really give me a positive energy, even though things didnt go as planned :), once again thankyou!
Aww, I was so sad when you told about your dream and suddenly - boom, reality! :< such a big bummer! The new tube sounds so convenient - I hope the time passes fast enough so that you can finally get it! Be strong girl :<
Wow...I now me ...I would have been upset going through all of that to find out someone dropped the ball. You set an excellent example of tolerance and patience. Thank you
There's a new invention, Doctor..... It's called a TELEPHONE...useful for ordering and calling patients to let them know about surgeries being cancelled. Jacquie I am so glad you have such a positive attitude. I have had similar experiences numerous times. I can't wait to find out about your new adventures.
My 7 year old had her GJ button changed last week. Her's broke which meant 3 days in the hospital waiting for them to place a new one while waiting around on an IV. I understand there are so many different sizes and lengths etc but it still sucks having to wait. This time they ended up putting one in that's a size up from her usual size because while they're supposed to always have a spare one on hand for her but they didn't. Hopefully they get your button in soon.
Never clicked on a video notification so fast in my life 😂😂 I love your channel and also also I hope everything goes well next time sorry my last comment made people upset so I had to edit it
I am so sorry that you didn't get the button. I also agree with Judd. The button should have been there. Patient, check, button duh? Really unprofessional I think. The doctors assistant should have determined that all was as should be before you ever entered the hospital. The doctor has too much to do so someone should have been up to this task. Hopefully all will be good soon and you will have your button. Take care hun. Love to all.
Love your positive attitude! Side note: I laughed when I watched your drive home from the hospital because I saw Harlow's nose smears on the back passenger window 😂😂
And this is why its good to ask questions and make sure everyone is on the same page. Annoying as it is before a procedure to be asked by 20 different people what you are there for, etc. But it keeps mishaps from happening. Glad you mentioned it and they caught it before it went too far along. Still a bit surprising the doctor "forgot" or misspoke on acquiring the supplies though. I mean mistakes happen, but still.
Sorry for the disappointment, Jacquie. Anesthesia throws my POTS off for a month though. I asked for the least vasodilating anesthesia and the anesthesiologist didn't even know what ME/CFS or POTS was. Afterwards I got pretty bad body pain for a few days...a symptom of a certain type of anesthesia.
What happened at the hospital shouldn't have happened but you handled it with a calm and even head... I've seen people lose their minds over the cafe not having any raspberry filled donuts they could learn a thing or two from you.
I found you binge watching videos on The Doctor's youtube channel Harlow is too cute ive watched 3 of your videos you have gained a new subscriber and everylasting prayer warrior💐💜🙏🏾
I went in on July 18th for surgery only to find out when they drew my blood, that my liver enzymes were very high (two numbers, supposed to be under like 60 and 40, and they were 1000 and 400) and they couldn't operate because the doctor didn't want to risk stressing my liver even more. Sometimes things don't go as planned and it's okay even though it's very frustrating, especially after going through surgery prep.
Jaquie - you are amazing, girl! I would have eaten that Dr. for lunch! You are so wonderfully positive - so proud of you. Glad that the IVIG is scheduled for an infusion center!!!!!!
im sooo frikkin glad i got my gp under control (for the most part). went a complete two years with no solids, dropped to 85lbs. Now im finally over 100 but it took a good 4yrs. I always knew my vagus was partly responsible but it hasnt been until the past year ive found out my mast cells from my stomach were causing it as well as attacking my vagus! hang in there, i can get better!
I can't believe no one called you to let you know this Jaquie before you went all the way to the hospital. I would be annoyed if this happened to me for sure. Glad you are okay though
GJ MIC Key button tubes are special order based on the stoma length in centimeters. Somehow, there must have been a miscommunication between the doctor and the person that does the ordering for the department. We used Kimberly Clark/Haylard Tubes. They are a great company.
Kinda bummed that you didn't get the GJ button, was looking forward to hearing about it. But smart idea waiting until it comes in, we can't wait to see what happens!
Scared me! I thought something ha challenged. Glad that it's just gonna be a month wait nothing else! Hope you're not to disappointed. Also the way you are making it positive makes me upbeat! Great! ;)
ugh that sucks. Ive had both long and both button tubes, but the button is so much more comfortable. Be super careful with it though, mine slipped through the stomach lining and got stuck between the abdominal wall and the stomach lining. it was SUPER painful. like i couldnt stand up.
Wow I'd be really upset! I would not have been as ok with it as you seem to be. But we DID find out that you're psychic! lol something in you knew you weren't getting that gj button
I'm glad propofol works well for you. It's awful for me. They gave it for my colonoscopy, which was totally overkill since I'd had several colonoscopies with light sedation and it worked well for me. I felt terrible for several days after the propofol. The anesthesiologist was a pompous ass, and I should have protested at the time, but I didn't really know what I was getting. Next colonoscopy I went back to light sedation and had a lovely anesthesiologist who listened. Thank goodness! I had to have four colonoscopies in slightly over a year and I only had that one that was bad. I'm not a big fan of the split prep because it means so little sleep, but maybe it does work better. I'm fortunate to have no stomach issues (mine's cast iron), but I have very many colon polyps!
My daughter got 50mgs of Thorzene.. Then they send in a STUDENT to place the tube.. Three tries.. both her dad and I were literally being held back.. My daughter in horrible pain, thrashing. She tried to stay still.. The supposed "dr" started to panic, which is normally something I will talk to them about, and make them a bt more comfortable doing procedures. My daughter is also very patient with her staff.. But, 50mgs of Thorzene would have knocked out a horse. She has my liver "condition" in which she hymetabolizes meds. When the student pulled the line for the 3rd time, there was about 3 inches of blood in the tube. I lost it. Told her to get the F away from my daughter. The student said to her dad, "Im sorry, Ive only done this on cadavers." Sorry, this is not a procedure that should be entrusted to a student! The line having blood in it, should have stopped, and got her attending. So, I got the Chief of Pulmonary. He arrived with a nurse that had cared for her n the past. Chief says to my daughter who is trying so hard to not cry, "Ok kiddo, lets let one of your fav nurses handle this, ok? Im sorry you got hurt, and your mom has already banned her from coming near you. We support you in that choice, you've always been very aware, thats why we trust you. K? You've got your call button, you should sleep a bit. I can't give you more, so you only have to be brave for a few more minutes.. I promise," She just nodded she was about to start sobbing, I could see. The nurse came up, and started to speak to her very quietly, "don't worry sweetie, Ive got this" Her dad (who happens to be 6'4" weighs in about 225...muscle.) was the one to hold her legs down the only one strong enough to. I got her head.. Another nurse got her arms. 3 minutes, line placed perfectly. They took her off to X-ray to confirm the line was in and emptying into her stomach. It was text book. My daughter will never be in the care of another student as long as she lives. Over my dead body.. and barring that, over the students dead body. She already has enough rare reactions to stuff, botching an ET, is asking for trouble.
I am new to your channel and I really enjoy learning about your life. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and I wish you all the best in the world.
I watched your video about all your illnesses and I just want to say you are an amazing human being and I hope that you never give up. And Judd is such a great person too. I hope things get easier for you both.
When you were talking about why you'd be under anesthesia, and you kept saying hole, I was like Stoma! I know that!😂 honestly Jaquie, you have taught me so much!😘
This sucks that you didn't get your proper feeding tube!....but if your doctor knew he couldn't get the tube you wanted he could've should've given you a call way in advance. To avoid you having to go through all the prep and waking up early and driving down for nothing
Someone dropped the ball. What a waste of time and money for everyone.. certainly hope you aren't charged for this hospital visit. Hospital clearly needs to review their procedures.
What were you guys going to do to me?"
Bless Jaquie for her kind heart and patience. She inspires me to be a better person everyday.
Seriously. It makes me angry that they had her go in for pre-op and everything only to be told "oh sorry, we don't have it". Waste of her time and theirs.
I hope they didn't charge her... I know, I know, expensive medicines and all that, but they didn't even have what she needed. wtf is that?
im with judd your positivity is radiant while the rest of us grumble. your outlook is inspiring.
I literally sat down and kept refreshing my feed for what felt like forever. I love you so much!!
Jaquie LITERALLY just hit 50K a couple days ago, now we're bout 60K. Man..
That's so disappointing and I'm so sorry. But your positivity and kindness shines through everything, even when you aren't treated correctly. You are such a wonderful person and I really hope you get the button soon with no more complications, and best of luck with IVIG ❤
I'm sure Hippo enjoyed the break! Also I'm so sorry about the button incident but luckily you have a great doctor!
Yesterday I had my volleyball tryouts. She had her surgery yesterday. I have tryouts again today. I glad that you'll be getting later. I'm glad that you chose not to get another tube at that time. I'm glad that you're still safe and not sick. You look so much happier and less tired.
When I read the title I freaked out.
I had a feeling she wouldn't get it for some reason☹️ and it sucks because she was so excited and confident
wow, i just love how you're so positive in a situation that's very disappointing. i was waiting for you to get it to! but don't worry, you'll eventually get it, and good luck!

Aww man! I was looking forward to the new tube update, I know you were excited for it

Judd did not look happy about the hospitals mistake. I have a feeling he won't be missing the next procedure.
I'm so sorry you didn't get the procedure done, they should have called you and spoken to one another so they could have let you not got through so much stress! However, it is great news about your IVIG keep smiling honey xxx
I'm praying that everything, even if it is unexpected, will go alright for you! Keep on keeping on, Jaquie!
~Stay awesome~
i like when you keep smiling, i do really need that, the smile you've shown really give me a positive energy, even though things didnt go as planned :), once again thankyou!

When I saw that title I had a tiny heart attack thinking that the surgery went wrong and you got really sick and I was so scared. Glad you're okay!!
I love your videos. I'm not disabled at all, and your story makes me realize just how much harder I could have it. You're an inspiration for me.

Hi Jaquie! Happy I found your channel, you are very inspiring! Much love from Canada, take care xo
Hope you get better and I love that you are willing to share your story

Almost the same thing Jaquie dreamed, happened. Jaquie is physic😂. Now that we really an adventure 😝
Love your positive attitude! Side note: I laughed when I watched your drive home from the hospital because I saw Harlow's nose smears on the back passenger window 😂😂

It is soo nice the way you took the events of today! I am not sure I could have been so gracious as you were with the doctor. 😉
Ok... I saw the first part... Now I'm scared.. 😬😳
I love your videos so much! Keep spreading awareness!
Great! ;)
Your dream was definitely on point! I always analyze my dreams.
you really have such a positive attitude!
4:29 I'm watching with subtitles and HAHAHHAHA the technical term is a doughnut 😂😂 auto generated subtitles stink! Lmao rn
That is indeed disapointing... I hope you'll have very little problems with the tube-change💙💜💖💚
imagine if you didn't mention the GJ button to the nurse, wow 😳 great video Jaquie 💓
Sorry it go right hope you feel better quick
You're continual good attitude is very inspiring to me....
ugh that sucks. Ive had both long and both button tubes, but the button is so much more comfortable. Be super careful with it though, mine slipped through the stomach lining and got stuck between the abdominal wall and the stomach lining. it was SUPER painful. like i couldnt stand up.
I'm so very sorry you couldn't get if done today because I know how excited you was. At least its still gonna get done just not now. Love your vlogs
Yeaaaaah a new video! Makes my day
My daughter got 50mgs of Thorzene..
Gotta name the bunny .... Pepto
Ray Vandegrift bismol?😂
Like the medicine! 😂😂😂
I watched your video about all your illnesses and I just want to say you are an amazing human being and I hope that you never give up. And Judd is such a great person too. I hope things get easier for you both.
Wow. That should have been ordered back whit his consult about the Change to begin with.
It's crazy that they didn't plan really well the surgery. 😡 so your dream became a reality 😁
At least something good came out today.
When you were talking about why you'd be under anesthesia, and you kept saying hole, I was like Stoma! I know that!😂 honestly Jaquie, you have taught me so much!😘
Omg never clicked on a video so fast
That dream you had was right !!
Haven't even watched the video yet. But I'm freaking out due to the title.
Sorry for your disappointment but LOVE your attitude!!
Ugh! So sorry Jacquie.
This sucks that you didn't get your proper feeding tube!....but if your doctor knew he couldn't get the tube you wanted he could've should've given you a call way in advance. To avoid you having to go through all the prep and waking up early and driving down for nothing
Omg you had a dream you didn't change your feeding tube, and you didn't! That's so creepy!
Someone dropped the ball. What a waste of time and money for everyone.. certainly hope you aren't charged for this hospital visit. Hospital clearly needs to review their procedures.
Sorry for the disappointing day. Do you have a new date scheduled for the button procedure?
Gurl. Your dream came TRUE!
