I am trying to preform some photogrammetry on coral fragments hanging from trees in a nursery. I am able to get some decent photos, but it is difficult to get "optimal" photos due to the swinging and underwater conditions. Metashape is able to do a good job aligning for the most part, but struggles with photos taken beneath the coral that are backlit. Have any advice that may improve alignment?
When I go to capture view at the end once the texture is added, what is the best pixel resolution for this? This will be for archeological reports so I need them the best possible JPEGs
It all depends on how it is going to be viewed. If it is printed then the printer will know the highest resolution they need. If it is digital larger will be better but will take longer to load if web based.
It is more complicated with underwater work without referencing something above water that is connected. You can get scale and have more options with this in the pro version of Agisoft
Thanks so much for this video, it's an invaluable resource for someone starting out and looking into this.
Glad it was helpful!

Have you tried shooting on an overcast day or at night using only artificial light?

Is there any way you have managed to georeference the models?

I have 500+ pictures, why can only 3 be aligned?
help me please
How much overlap do you have between the pictures? Is there consistent lighting?
Wow the model produced looks really rough.
Yes this was just a quick one with not too many photographs to speed up the work-flow enough o get the steps covered.
