SHOUTOUT There will be a NEW constructed station at Lionel Road and one at Old Oak Common Lane, separate to the one on HS2 and Crossrail.(station project!)
BTW, I forgot to say that it might stop at Neasden for the Jubilee line and Harlesden for the Bakerloo Line and Lioness Line of the London Overground.
Another obvious interchange would be south of South Acton, where the line goes under the District+Piccadilly east-west line.
The north branch of the north-east end would go to Hendon (linking with the Express bus Superloop) and maybe even Mill Hill Broadway. The difficult bit of the project, in terms of getting a decent frequency, would be where it shares tracks with the Mildmay line Richmond branch and also freight trains, from South Acton to Acton Wells junction; and there is a level crossing at Acton Central, which will also restrict the number of trains. But, as you say, it will be an important route for passengers. There are other lines in the UK where level crossings could severely restrict growth in journeys and, by implication, the amount of modal transfer from cars to public transport, so maybe soon it will be necessary to find a long-term solution - perhaps putting the tracks underground for a short distance.
This is not a new railway. It just joins up existing lines with a new service. It would need some electrifying of lines that aren't, at the moment, electrified.
It's a very useful project and I hope it eventually goes ahead. I must correct your pronunciation of Isleworth. The letter s is sounded like a z and is not silent as in the word isle. Thus it sounds rather like 'EYE' zul worth, and stressed on the first syllable.
Thanks for the tips!
It’s pronounced “I-zal-worth” btw
