I was thinking Wow! Wouldn't it be neat to have a book on each color. Here in Colorado, the Mayor of Denver in the 1800s passed a law that the prostitutes all had to wear yellow. Of course, this led to EVERY woman, girl, and infant being swathed in yellow in protest. Excellent guest! Such fun!

OH MY GOODNESS! This is a wonderful interview. I've been a color junkie all of my life. It has been an integral part of my life since I was a child: coloring in color books, drawing, painting, doing needle-crafts, knitting, crocheting, in fashion, interior design & decoration, beading, quilting & gardening. I studied the meanings of color, it's effects on people & how it can contribute to healing, but Kassia's work 'takes the cake!' :-) Thanks to your interview with her, her books will soon become part of my library. Thank you so much. :-D

Karen and Kassia: what a beautiful name😀
That was an absolutely wonderful interview. It really shows that your love of color started as a child in the floral shop; how sweet. I think it’s awesome how your mum would foster the color and craftiness, she led by example🥰 Give the clothes sewing a go, I’m sure it will all come back around.!?!?!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, I found it very interesting. I will have to look into your books
Gods blessings til next time ❤️😀

Pat Sloan is doing a year long quilt along using the 72 colors from her book. I checked it out from the library and grabbed swatches from my stash. My daughter thought the genesis of Isabelline was hysterical. I've made it to the reds and enjoy the histories. Thank you both!

I've always loved color. I feel it's part of my heritage; half Swedish, half Italian. I've sewn for years and started quilting twenty years ago. Some might think it's bragging, I can pick out colors. It might take me a year to find fabric for a quilt...it seems like the fabric "talks" to me. I decorate my house with color...it makes me happy. One of my favorite lessons I gave in my women's Bible study,, was a correlation of colors in the Bible.. I'm looking forward to reading her book. Lynne

One of our favorite useful movie lines to quote is from Middlemarch, where the young wife from a lower rung in society has not only worn the same dress twice (gasp!) but also the dress is a sort of moss green. As only Maggie Smith can do, with a mean little twinkle, she says "Green is tricky". Boy, does that turn out to be true though!

I looked at it as more of a reference when decorating and painting the house. I am now going to pick it up and do more reading. I really enjoy the short stories of each color, and as Karen said it’s an easy book to pick up to read sections and then put down to read more another day. I am festinated to get The Golden Thread.

Thank you! I'm putting her on my reading list. Here in America after WWII part of our agreement with Germany that they give us a dye technology that made a green that set and didn't fade. Many quilts can be found in that era that use a what I call a dark ish mint green. I'm sure it has a name and I'm only giving loose details from memory. It all is so interesting! I believe that bubble gum pink came from that time too. Fun!

The few things I have learnt is the natural products and discoveries where colours came from such as royal purple and red. Time consuming processes hence the cost in producing. Compliments! I was not going to watch this video based on the summary - just didn't seem like my kind of topic - but looking over the comments piqued my interest. Absolutely fascinating. Kassia is such an interesting person and I look forward to reading the stories in her books now. You - you are a fantastic interviewer. No kidding. And a fantastic editor too as I assume you and Kassia talked about much more than was shown in the video. Seriously you seem to know where to take the conversation and ask things that interest me - things that I would have never known to ask about. If you ever tire of sewing, throw your hat over the wall for talk show host:)

One day driving along with my husband I saw a woman wearing what to me was just a horrible color-- a green that screamed "bury me so no one has to ever look at me again!" I asked "why would anyone wear that color?" He took that in and asked "well, what should she wear?" So I gave him my best logic and said "Purple, if course!!" -- and we laaaauughed, cuz he knows I'm partial to wearing purple. And of course, quilting and kitty cats.😌😌😍

You always have the most interesting guest speakers. When I heard you were going to have an author relative to color theory, I thought to myself, "Well, this is going to be boring and I'll probably fall asleep listening." But, I ALWAYS give it a go, and much to my pleasant surprise, I was really drawn in to Kassia. So much so, I'm going to buy her book, not only for myself, but one for a friend as well! Thank you! I can't wait for her other book...
