The battery can not be taken with metal tweezers. Close the +/-. Use plastic tweezers to install the battery.

Yes, stainless tweezers aren’t ideal. Plastic ones would be much better. I just didn’t have any at the time.

Little of both, it’s a pre quartz electric watch but the hands are directly driven by the vibrations of the tuning fork.
