I recommend you to come again. 3rd wave is now mainstream coffe culture in istanbul and specialty coffee shops and roasters are more popular than chain cafes.
@kishanagrawal4440 aside from the ones that have been mentioned in the video I'd recommend boxx coffee, cleancup, coffeenutz. These are less popular than petra and montag. Petra may be the most popular specialty cafe and they have few branches. Also their desserts are great. Also moc is a great choice since they have so many branches. Not good as others though.
Expand You horizons. Go to the manufactures in Europe that make coffee equipment. Pour over equipment. French press. Drip machines etch. That would add to your vids. Ty. Great Vids
Yeah, agreed. We have been to Mahlkoenig and Nuova Simonelli already (have you seen these vids?) but soon we will bring you a report from Moccamaster factory. There is definitely a lot to share so it is just a matter of the right time and conditions. You will like it!
Yes, you are absolutely right. Finding speciality coffee in the city is our aim so we skip, on purpose, the traditional places. No doubts people can find plenty of tips for the historical ones:)
Thanks for this wonderful trip, guys. I wonder why have you missed Coffeetopia and MOC (Ministry of coffee) ? These are one of the most famous 3rd wave coffee shops in Istanbul.
guys, thanks for your tripping! In all your videos, coffee tastes just good, and that is a big cons. Can you please try to describe the taste, it's so interesting what you get in the cup, body, sweetness, acidity, flavour!! So sad that is just no information about it..
Good point Anton! We will do our best to try bring more information next time - we are not professional tasters so our goal is not to describe the nuances of the taste but rather show the places to go and people to meet. However we will try to be more specific when it comes to the taste descriptors.
Hey Glenn, we hope too! There is still so much to discover in Europe yet it is, of course, exciting to extend our travels. We have made a short documentary from Tanzania if you are interested!
Sure! Just stay tuned and there will be more and more. If you check our website, we have close to 1000 cafes you can visit in Europe and we are adding more and more every week. We are based in Brno, Czech Republic and Berlin, Germany.
This is good and all, but where are the Ottoman Coffeehouses or the traditional Turkish coffee places? I feel like you missed that out in favour of Americanised cafes
We don’t do ranking. What we feature is worth visiting in our opinion. Thanks for watching (the video is also a little old so many things has changed).
I am worried when you took taxi in Istanbul. If I were you, I would take it with a native Turkish speaker and be silent all the time so they don't understand you are a foreigner and ferry you around the Asian side and back to the European side. Taxis are candidly hated by everyone there.
Not to be racist. we are love all kind of people as a turkish. There is a similar but different cultures and this those is good. PLS honey take 21th ceuntry vision of life and dont judge the people where they from.
@@BirinEri You lived with ‘us’ in our land, Turks belong in far east Asia, but then again modern Turks are mixtures with Armenians and Greeks, I hear the dominant male DNA in Turkey is not Asian but Greek, there was this ‘proud’ Turkish woman saying she had no Greek or other non Turkish blood but her DNA matched that of Greeks :) Turkey is an extension of Greece with a different religion. Still Greek coffee houses are better factually.
Nice tour! Very eclectic cafe's with agreeable, casual, welcoming vibe.
Definitely putting Istanbul on my, Places I Need To Go List.
Great video!
I’m glad you said what neighborhood each one is in - I haven’t been in 20 years but this made me so nostalgic for the city I love
Thanks, this was a great vid. People who say Istanbul is not in Europe should check their geography knowlage 😁 Noone talks about European Union.
I'm from Istanbul and my favourite one is Petra Roasting Co. I generally buy my coffee beans from there to brew at my home.
Woooow! new Istanbul for me.👌 Thank you 😉
I m going to Istanbul soon ,I will try those cafés
Great, you should also ask for recommendation. There may be even more cafes now:) Enjoy the trip!

Taksi görünce korktum, yüksek bir olasılıkla uzun yoldan götürmüştür.
Very interesting, thank you.
I like the background music alot.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Finding speciality coffee in the city is our aim so we skip, on purpose, the traditional places. No doubts people can find plenty of tips for the historical ones:)
Good stuff!
+Finder 22 thank you!

@@GeorgeLista Hope you're gonna love it
both have horrible coffee tbh, low grade and excessively roasted and expensive
Great city for coffee drinkers, loads of specialty coffee shops, I went to Istanbul last February and tried loads.
Agree! It’s been a while since we made this video but we are looking forward to be back at some point.

Hopefully you guys can make some videos about coffee in Asia
Hey Glenn, we hope too! There is still so much to discover in Europe yet it is, of course, exciting to extend our travels. We have made a short documentary from Tanzania if you are interested!
Great... Can you release more videos about coffee in other european cafes? By the way, where are you guys from?
Sure! Just stay tuned and there will be more and more. If you check our website, we have close to 1000 cafes you can visit in Europe and we are adding more and more every week. We are based in Brno, Czech Republic and Berlin, Germany.
Istanbul is Beauty
+Андрей Абрамович yeah, it is!! We hope to be back for Istanbul Coffee Festival.
+European Coffee Trip , The description of the video says " capital of Turkey". Ankara is the capital , not Istanbul. :)
+Андрей Абрамович Good point, we should get back to our geography lessons. Of course it is Ankara, we are really sorry.
This is good and all, but where are the Ottoman Coffeehouses or the traditional Turkish coffee places? I feel like you missed that out in favour of Americanised cafes

+Hatice Özer Yes, we love it too!!
You didn't rank them though. I'd love to see a ranking of them all.
We don’t do ranking. What we feature is worth visiting in our opinion. Thanks for watching (the video is also a little old so many things has changed).
which one was your favourite?
We really liked Norm Coffee and Coffee Department but we love all the cafes we visit and show in the video.
You have great content I like it so much but please please improve on videography, editing, sound etc. Cheers
Coffee is a delicious drink that should also be consumed less for health

Why would you make a video like this with absolutely no description of how the coffee tastes?? Terribly done.
👍 💯 also I wonder how they can spend 4-5 days or a whole day in a city and only produce a 4min or 12min vid! What is the point?
You should never miss an opportunity to call Constantinople by its name ☝️
Greek coffee houses look so much better than the Turkish ones, what a difference!
Good Life you must be “greek” then genious :).
Not to be racist. we are love all kind of people as a turkish. There is a similar but different cultures and this those is good. PLS honey take 21th ceuntry vision of life and dont judge the people where they from.
Macedonian coffee houses look waaaay better than Greek ones
You lived with us for 400 years, you learned about coffee from us and you don't like our coffee. don't forget where you came from, little boy
