I like this sauerkraut, it's not too sour and it's displayed on a shelf, not in the refrigerated section (keeping cost low). And that's the bad news: un-refrigerated sauerkraut continues to ferment, continues to get more sour. This sauerkraut tastes the same on day 1 and on day 10, meaning it's been pasteurized (using high heat to kill off bacteria, including the probiotics) to increase shelf life.
Hello. Thank you for the comment and for the insight. Horrible circumstance concerning the probiotics. I am an organic eater now so it has been a while since I purchased this product.
@@dougprentice1363 I got that information from the Store Manager. Since this video came out, there has been a price increase with everything going on, it was $1.69 now it is $3.69. I am making my own now.
@@matthewpadgett9526 That Store Mngr doesn't know science. Un-refrigerated sauerkraut continues to ferment, continues to get more sour. This sauerkraut tastes the same on day 1 as on day 10, meaning it's been pasteurized (killing off all bacteria) so no more probiotics to continue to produce the acid to make the sauerkraut more sour.
What's the difference between German sauerkraut and canned or bagged sauerkraut? I like rinsing the sauerkraut. Is that ok to do with the German style?

The highest regards to SAUERKRAUT LOVERS! Guess which food is highest in VITAMIN C? You guessed it, SAUERKRAUT.

Great performance in regard to SAUERKRAUT - Danke from A KRAUT!
Used to have white wine but it’s omitted now for some reason.
The one I bought this week still has the white wine & smells the most potent by far than any brand on most store shelves.
Matching hat! :D
It was kismet; meant to be...the hat and the jars. You're most welcome.
Garbage if it wasn't in the refrigerated case. Was this stuff pasteurized? Probably! So probiotic benefits are all gone!
