    Call me pedantic but... DON'T force the old brake fluid from the caliper/piston back up into the system. It's been heated and abused for years already. You are forcing it back up the line, potentially into the anti-lock actuators.. Also's open the bleed screw and capture the old nasty fluid.. then add new brake fluid at the reservior

    Nice informative video for the person who has never changed their own brakes before. O'Reilly's auto parts will resurface rotors. Thank u

      Nahh it looks like he switched sides. He started on the passenger side and finished on the driver side

    Don't you also have to change the caliper slides? I thought they came with the purchase of the brake pads

    Did you reuse the rotors? Will a shop TURN them for just anyone and how much is a rwasonable charge for that?

    My question is why did he change the rotors, usually when it's like that once you press the brakes all that Rust comes off. long as the brake pads don't wear all way down and ruin the break rotor they fine right🤔

    good video the only thing I can't understand is the caliper bolts come up as 133 foot pounds . I also called a local gm dealer in the parts department and they also stated 133 foot pounds ? does that seem crazy for a 15mm bolt ?

    The chirper belongs on the inside of rotor just like it was when you pulled off the pads on the passenger side! When you put the pads on the driver side you had the chirper on the outside.Did I see this correctly?

      it doesn't matter which side and alot of pads come with them on both pads.

    How Much Did They Charge You to Machine Your Rotors?

    • @AutoRex101
      @AutoRex101  5 лет назад

      $10 a piece.

      Thats cheap and fair eventually you have to get new ones like I did i had mine turned 3 times any more they get to thin and heat can warp or crack them. Any good machine shop will mic them and not just tell you they need to be reppaced.

    Wipe the pins clean with a rag before applying new grease. Also, make sure the master cylinder fluid level isn't too full before and after compressing the caliper.

    So my rotor retain screw stripped out on the first turn because it was so corroded. Do I need that still?

    • @MyTimmy75
      @MyTimmy75 4 месяца назад

      No you don't at all. If it's stripped out. Just drill the screw out, And don't worry about it ever again :) Your lug nuts when the tire is back on will hold it all in place :) Cheers
