I have the bottom-of-the-line J45 Studio, at $399 I was very pleased with the fit and finish and overall feel, it was my first acoustic. I have a case and a humidifier now, who knew you needed these things? It took me a while to get used to a playing position with the guitar being so fat, I angle it back a bit and get better projection to my ears.
My Roots!!! Grew up with the Real Thing, Gibson J-45!! Would really like to have herd the Pickem-Up Shaped Object 😭 Thinking about buying one BEN, my sister has my Dad's and I wanted one of my own for ever and My Dad got another one and then sold it out from under me to a Kuzz-N who in turn Broke the Neck🙄🥺😭 but though about a Epi J-45 just cause don't want to make to much adjustments to GC! Ovation 66, But we'll See 🙏 TY Brother 🤘🎸🤠
I always wanted a Gibby j45 - but, didn't want to shell out da' bucks! So, recently I got that exact guitar for $575, used in Victoria, BC. It came with an LR Baggs pickup in it - an upgrade from the stock guit'. I already had an Epiphone acoustic case for it. I hear you 'bout the frets; they are rather skinny, where I would have preferred something like, just under medium jumbos - like the Gibby. Guess I'll be doin' a fret job, one day. Cheers, Mike from Sooke, BC
It gets confusing. I thought Masterbilt & IBG were separate lines. My IBG J-45 came from a store that thought it was a Masterbilt. Now they are the same thing? Anyway, mine came from Indonesia and at £500 it is a winner. More recent ones from China are getting mixed reviews. The pickup is nothing special but everything else is excellent, although the pick guard could be a lot thinner. Good to see the enthusiasm, Ben.
I have a single cut version of that guitar I bought 10ish years ago. The pup system works great, I've played it out a bunch of times! A "real" J45, Vintage, is on my 'short list'. It's a long short list. LOL 8) Thanks Ben!!
Sounds good & nice guitar for the value most definitely but the real Gibson J-45 to me wins hands down. It sounds way much more cripsier & clean to me with nice full sound. That's just my opinion.
I cut my teeth on Gibson J45s my old man was a bluegrass player and only played Gibson and Taylor. I have the AJ45ME it sounds pretty similar, but it has a little bit more bling then that one and says masterbilt on the trussrod cover. Get a proper set up and throw some 80/20 bronze dadario Xseries 10's on and you will get all of the jangle of the classic J45 without the price tag. Tone wise the top is thicker and the finsh isnt as quality, so it's never gonna quite match the modern Gibson J45. My favorite guitar is an old used Epiphone DR100 with a florid hummingbird pickguard. It's my campfire axe, couch guitar, leave it out, toss it around no worries sounds great. I could own 10 of them for what it would cost for a real Gibson, but thats just me.

Good looking and sounding Flat -Top Ben.
I have never held a J45 type object, thinking one day I will have to take one out for a rip. Looks purdy. 👍

I hate it when they hide the electronicals like that! Sweet guitar though. Thanks Ben!

Usually don't watch acoustic review/demos but made an exception for #GuerillaGearDemos

I've never liked Gibson/Epiphone acoustics. To me they sound like cardboard boxes (super plain, boring sound and tone).
Nice demo though.
