Lovely, just the tonic to watch after a day at the farm, now warming up, heating on, a fine Derbyshire beer in hand, l love the shooting community, much appreciated
Great vid! Steel #2 out of extended, non-ported chokes, are hammers on pheasant, I didn't miss lead after using that combo. (chokes pattern checked for which distance I wanted of course). I like extended chokes being not-so harsh on the thread area with steel over time and they seem to settle the steel shot down a bit more after initial constriction which in turn has given me better patterns typically over flush chokes for that shot material.
@@calebwatanabe9897 It's not terribly difficult to get a license in the UK. Shotguns are easier than rifles as you can have them for purely sport, but it's more patience than anything as it usually takes 6 months or so for approval and going through hoops with your FAO. As long as you have a justifiable reason for wanting one and you have permissions for land to shoot on you're normally ok. The main difference between the UK and the US is the UK views firearms as vermin control/hunting/sporting tools, whereas the US also views them as a means of defence, unlike the UK. Hence why we have to apply for licenses, no doubt because the police force doesn't want people having them just for the sake of having them which I think is understandable considering we don't use firearms for self defence over here. If you don't fill in the prerequisites for a firearm in the UK, the likelihood is by owning one you're going to be committing a crime anyway.
Another great video, had to pour myself a glass of port to enjoy the moment. Fingers crossed we can all get out and enjoy what we can of this season in December and January.
My close friends and I had to cancel our yearly pheasant outing this year. Hopefully, sometime soon, all of this will be in our past and we can get back to doing what we all enjoy. Stay safe and healthy all *cheers
Such a great video, very cool for we Americans to see a traditional British shoot! You made some great shots! Thanks for sharing your adventures. Stay safe, keep your spirits up, and all the best!
What a great day, this makes me happy, that buzz of shoot day! I’m very much missing the season at the moment. The small shoot I’ve beat on for many years has decided not to even have a season this year, so we wait until next year, it’s very sad.
Just stumbled across your channel. I’ve been following a good few shooting channels over the years & this is certainly one I’ll be keeping up with! Your production is brilliant, very entertaining video. Thanks!
Looked an absolutely cracking day, loved the camera work as always and great to see the shots of the dogs working especially as they are a vital part of a shoot. Only criticism is it was way too short! Would be good to see a feature on the dogs though.....unless you have already!
Great film and what looks to have been a great day with friends. Question, I noticed on some of your shots a sort of barrel “flick” if you will when you made the shot. I’m not familiar with that technique. Is it intended to spread the shot? Thank you Johnny.
Hello TGS, watching your videos on plastic alternatives and pattern tests of various cartridges ranging from fibre to biodegradable, I am curious to your opinion of the BioAmmo Lux Lead. Me and my fellow shooters shoot extreme game, high phesants, and are looking for a plastic alternative that performs better than fibre. We want to know if you think that BioAmmo is a good alternative to plastic for extreme game and how well they compare to plastic.
I've never been on a drive but your video made it look exciting how do you learn your arcs of fire? That's the one thing I'd be worried about I think I'd need someone behind me just to make sure I'm safe
He is good and your production quality is right up there, but I think Dave Carrie’s cameraman just shades it imho, albeit that he has probably being doing it a lot longer. Keep them coming, always a great watch👍
Hi Johnny loving the videos. how many bird day is this? I just wonder because I would like to book a day somewhere and you are killing plenty. its the sort of day I would want.
Hi Johnny, love watching the videos from Australia. Looks like it might be a while before I can get over there again. Are you using the bio-steel through your miroku? I think it’s 3/4 and full choked. Does that mean i could use my steel proofed beretta trap gun in 3/4 and full fixed chokes next time I’m in Scotland rather than loaning guns? With all the paperwork I may not bother anyway, but still struggling to understand the application of the steel shot. Cheers
I wouldn’t recommend it, however, I wanted to see what it does through the gun and am happy to write it off if any damage occurs. So far about 60 cartridges in and no visible bulging has occurred. I cannot guarantee this will be the case for guns though.
@@tgsoutdoors Thanks for the reply. That’s what I suspected, but really it’s a whole new world for me. Glad you were able to get out before the lockdown. All the best to you all as you go through lockdown again, I hope the keepers etc get some season after all their hard work.
@TGS Outdoors i love your flat cap! I have been looking for one excakly like your's. Can you please tell me where i can buy the same one? Great videos as usual by the way! Keep up the good work and nice greeting's from Austria🌿👍
That looked like a fine day shooting. I hope it's not the end of the seasons shooting for you. With the situation, it looks like an event several of us had planed will likely be put off until next season. I was looking forward to it, but more birds next time I suppose. I will be able to walk a few fence rows on my own anyway. I hope you can have the chance to do at lest that as well.
Where's your dogs that field is way too far and too big for one human being to grab all your game did you have a duck goose or pheasant you need a dog when was the mind actual and get it for you and bring it back
A great film of a memorable day. I enjoyed watching it as much as you enjoyed being there. Thanks, Jonny.

Looks like the best of craic an enjoyable day out. 👌
Only the British would wear a long sleeve button down shirt with a tie hunting. Classy, I must say.
That''s what we do in the UK. All part of the day out
Damn!! I so do miss this, looked like a great day out. Fingers crossed I’ll be back next year.
I think that the pressures that we have been under, will determine the community we will become. A good day!
You guys really are good at this. It's a rare RUclips channel that publishes films rather than videos.
love the channel, your vids always put a smile on my face,, specially this year when i have had most my days cancelled like many others..
Glad you enjoyed this one.
good scenery, good company & some shooting, whats not to enjoy. Looks like you all had a great day.

It’s fascinating how much different upland game hunting is in the UK compared to the US
We do have comparable hunts, walking up game with dogs, it’s just less accessible in the south.
Always wanted to get a shotgun licence. This just makes me want to go on a short just that little bit more
Go for it bud!
I'm sorry you have to get a license first.
@@calebwatanabe9897 no shit Sherlock
@@shootingsmedy9857 as in: I'm sorry you even need a license as I'm an American and have my firearm rights built into our constitution.

Do you know how game dealers are adapting to steel shot? Seems like steel would present much greater risk to teeth.
