I saw it as a 80s teen when I saw it on cable. And "Where" they came from was never a "Key piece of information" for me ? In fact I never even considered it until you mentioned it. And even now I don't care. I simply enjoyed the movie. And I hate clown because I have a clownphobia ! lol

They filmed this in my hometown...My best friend Mike mainly played "Spikey." although they switched from time to time...He got to do the balloon dog gag...which was the best thing in the movie...Nobody bothered to look at the trail he did it at...he had very little vision and tripped over some branches and tumbled down a big hill. All they cared about was whether he screwed up the clown costume. Also. the first time he put it on it almost killed him...since he couldn't breathe. Spikey got a Fukco Pop last year...so I told Mike that he finally made the big time.
Jebus, I remembered hearing about talks of a sequel for this movie for like centuries now. Everytime someone mentions a sequel is close to coming, it never end up happening.

@Matthew Robayo the film is very tame ( don’t remember any swearing, blood, or nudity). Just saying if they wanted to do sequel in 2020’s it would have to be a different take. As much as I love the original, if they made a sequel in the same tone it would probably be panned by the general audience?

This movie alongside RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD are my top favorite "fun 80s horror" films. Not super dark or gory or harsh, just good fun through and through with great soundtrack and practical effects. They totally nailed the atmosphere.

The Chiodo Brothers have been wanting to make a sequel but they also want to make it a big over arching universe with them having ideas for a TV show as well.
I like how Halloween Horror Nights showed them for 3 years 2018 (scarezone in Universal Studios Orlando), 2019 (Maze and Haunted House for Orlando and Hollywood), and 2022 (Only Hollywood)
I wouldn't say Jumbo is the de facto leader of the Klowns, given that he barely shares any screentime with the others. If anyone's the de facto leader of the Klowns It's probably either Slim or Rudy
Something to think about.. this was my one of my favorite childhood movies.. recently watched with my girlfriend and she loved it the next day my cousin come back from the beach with a Killer Clowns shirt now this ? Next level mind boggled
Actually some Klowns do look like and actually they’re were made to be similar. Actually ever klown uses a head sculpt and there was Tiny, Ozob, Killer, and Bubbles. So what they would do is swap out Klowns and they’re ears. For example Spikey and Slim both use the Ozob head template but Slim uses the Killer ears (The ones that Jumbo has) Some females are put into balloons because the balloons act like refrigerators incase there’s a lot of cocoons.
I remember when i was little and I think it was when my family were fixing up the new house that we still live in to this day, i found killer klowns and i wanted to watch it, but at the menu screen i got scared and my aunt took out the movie for me. Years later i found it and decided finally watch it and i enjoyed the movie, and the song hits hard for me. Sadly there were scenes that would freeze or skip. Even more years later, much longer this time we ended up finding the movie at a store with a differemt box cover that looked more grim and dark than the cover we had at home. It also included a coloring book which was pretty cool. We got it and were finally able to watch it in its entirety. The amazing thing was that during those years I didnt even know how popular it was and thought it was a kind of cheesy b movie that i really did enjoy watching because of how creative it was that most likely many people have never heard of or seen until my uncle told me and my sister about the funko pops which was then when i started to see how popular it really was and how big it was getting overtime to today

Crikey ! I watched as a 19 year old when it came out and I found it to be brilliant and really funny. What a great take on a comedy horror. The rest is all new to me. I'll never forget the filming of this in Santa Cruz. There were no filming permits pulled. So it was all gorilla style. You know how kids in the street yell out "CAR" and resume play after the car passes? That's how all the outdoor night scenes went.
My bandmate, Paul Haley, played one of the Killer Klowns. In the scene where a group of clowns plaster an amusement park night watchman with acid pies ("Whatcha plan to do with those pies, boys?"), he is the Klown with the large blue neck ruffle. He tells me that Klown's name was Bubbles.
I remember killer clowns ,my family owned a video rental store back in the early 80’s scary movies was the rage back then killer clowns fit in really well
@@letsscream my father has a collection of over 6000 vhs movies..mainly because he would pay over $50 to $100 for a new release but would only get $3 to $5 trade in value from the distributor’s ,so he just kept them LoL

We need to make countless online petitions for more films for Chiodo Bros to make. Till MGM or whatever studio owns the rights makes it happen. I wanna know more of the klowns background, more details of how human girls being turned into alien klowns in one or two ways. Us fans need to unite and do whatever it takes for more films to come.

The Dickies! That's the first thing I think about when I see this movie or see one of those clowns 🤡. They picked the perfect band to do the theme song because the Dickies are bazaar as well love it. I turned 15 the Summer this came out. It used to play on “Up All Night” with Gilbert Gottfried & Rhonda Shear. When I first saw the pink pods and them sticking a straw into it I was like WTH am I watching?😂The theme song to the movie is great.
Interesting concept... That could really go either way. In the first film, it makes sense... but expanding the storyline to a second, I bet they modify that concept some.

I turned 15 the Summer this came out. It used to play on “Up All Night” with Gilbert Gottfried & Rhonda Shear. When I first saw the pink pods and them sticking a straw into it I was like WTH am I watching?😂The theme song to the movie is great.

I grew up watching this movie. I always thought the creature that spawned from popcorn, was more of a tool rather than a baby killer klown. Thoughts?
Interesting concept... That could really go either way. In the first film, it makes sense... but expanding the storyline to a second, I bet they modify that concept some.
