Aldo Nova had a big hit in the early 80s called "Fantasy". It was a great song, plus had a really cool music video (including the famous laser-shooting guitar) and really hit a certain musical sweet spot that was about 5 years ahead of its time. My friends and I would often start in with "whatever happened to that Aldo Nova band?" We had no idea that Aldo Nova was actually his name. By the way, that music video was the second video aired on MTV 26 years ago, right after "Video Killed the Radio Star". So, I'm tangentially in some circles now that include 80s rockers, and on my linkedin Aldo Nova shows up as someone I may know. Obviously, there's only one Aldo Nova. So I looked him up on Facebook and it turns out he's really active over there. It also turns out that he did *a lot* after Fantasy, just not as much airplay. Which is a shame - he only got better. Anyway, it's been interesting to go back now and see what he's been up to all these years. It's a shame I missed it while he was doing it.
I'm on an ALDO NOVA MARATHON tonight ! It's 2021 and have been listening to all my favorite bands from the 80's and 90's all day. But for the most part that's about all I usually listen to besides a few country artists here and there. But I'm a true 80's lady for sure !!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
I hear ya Deb 80's for life, l miss those years , you can go back and remember where you were in life thru these songs and bands. It was a fun time, the concerts were amazing, and now it's like uggggh!
I saw Aldo on the Blood On The Bricks Tour at Riverbend Ampitheater in Cincinnati, Ohio in July 1991. He was the first warm-up band, followed by Great White and headliner The Scorpions (Tease Me Please Me had just been released). We were seated 2nd row from the stage and during an intermission my wife was climbing over the front row of chairs to get Aldo's autograph and she broke her ankle. She never got the autograph and thanks to many bears she rocked through the entire show. However, when the show was over and the music stopped, the pain kicked in big time. I had to carry her to the car and drovver he to the ER! Great show, though!
I grew up loving Aldo Nova. I listened to them in the 80's . I didn't get to see him until the 90's at a club in El Paso Tx. Not many people had heard about him. It was hard finding tapes of his music. Still one of my favorites to date. Thank you Aldo Nova for the memories
Heard this on the radio today cruising to work at 5:30 AM. Just one of those magical moments, all alone on the highway and I totally fell in love with the song! I can't believe I'd never heard of these guys before!
I was stationed in Idaho Falls when this came out. I had just had my first real serious car stereos put in, and this disc was in heavy rotation in my car. This is still one of my all-time favorite songs.
Aldo was a great guitar player that for what ever reason never got the fame that he was due-he wrote many songs for other bands also BOC referenced Aldo at a concert-Rock ON ALDO!!!!
When I saw this video’s premiere in Headbangers Ball in the summer of 91, it was announced as the first music video for 2 songs together. It was actually coupled with the song “Someday” and was a non-stop video that was about 10 minutes long without a break.
@@obiobacadadiatequieromas5353Ironically; it was Aldo Nova who was very instrumental (no pun intended) in launching Jon Bon Jovi's career. After all; Aldo's quite prominently featured on "Runaway".
@@indianathiessen i played that album a lot when it came out..talented guitar-pop-rock..but today it's the talented band virgin steele with their albums "invictus" and "the house of atreus act I and II" that make music listenable to me.. :)
Such a fn GREAT SONG this whole LP is the shiz. I got it when it came out.. I actually had all of Aldo's work up until blood. Still love Aldo the soundtrack of my youth

@Sebastianesc I think If I remember correctly all the musicians that toured with Aldo were hired guns. Aldo wrote and produced and I think recorded everything himself.
I heard Aldo is a producer now and he produced or had something to do with one of Celine Dion's albums? I don't know wgat other artists he's worked with.....
I think the issue they had was there range of sounds was too wide. Rock ballads were big but was rough when making 2 part songs like this 1. they were just ahead of their time even for the 80s. Great Band and I would love to see a reunion tour
I accidentaly heard Aldo Nova a few days ago. I think I've found the most underrated rock musician.
My cousin introduced me to him back in '84 :-B
most Canadian bands are
You need to get out more

Aldo Nova is very underrated! Love this!
Great comeback by Aldo at the time. A great song that never got good recognition knowing how the way modern music was changing.

one of THE GREATEST rock songs to come outta the greatest eras of music! ...crank it to 11 gentlemen!

It's a shame this album did not sell as well as it should have!!
You make me a proud Canadian
Long live Aldo Nova
By far their BEST song. Please more like this.
So cool! a les paul with an explorer headstock.
Dang this is a ripper track. Those backing vocals are sick! Awesome👍👍👍
Mr.Jon Bon Jovi on backing vocals and production, by the way😊

Fantastic Song !!!
Last time I saw you Live ❤ you know you were Much Younger Too, Same Hunger ❤
Loved this song when it first came out. At first, I thought she had just disappeared, then I realized...she was part of the act! That poor guy. Lol
One of my favorite bands of the 80's. So underrated. Like Mahogany Rush , not part of the LA payola crew so never broke it super big. Damn shame.
It's been 29 years since I first say this video, and the story STILL fucks my head up . . .
Merci "Aldo Nova" 🙋🎼💜🎸🎷 🎻🎹🎺🌺🎧🎼🎩🎩🎩
It's the first time I heard this. Great song.
Same Hunger ❤

I wonder how much hairspray the 80s bands used total of all the hair bands?? Barrels and Barrels. LOL
It's a wicked song, I wish I could find the guitar tabs for it because I'd love to learn it!
Bravo ⚘
Aldo is Hot he Rocks
I wish...,
Yup,if this came out 3 years or so earlier,it would have been a hit. Nice solo btw, very tasteful.
Another cool song essentially forgotten by the arrival of Nirvana and grunge.
I could not stand Grunge rock! Nirvanna-could not understand the voice on Smells like teen spirit.

It’s kinda crazy when his music career tanked he had to do vocals for different products ,like Phillips shavers for tv commercials .
which chick? the one on guitar, bass, drums, or vocals?
