    As the wise man said, "A capable wife, who can find?" (Proverbs 31:10-31) Looks like you have indeed found one Shawn. There is nothing better than a husband and wife working together helping one another,. It is a beautiful thing. God Bless you guys.

    You guys really showed the power of that lead blower, when Shawn was in the corner and kicked the leaves in front of the open gate they went poof gone, into the yard!
    The last guy who put in enough thought to cover the leaf pile up was great, made that an easy pickup.
    Take care!

    That Proforce is a beast, and I really didn't think the semi-frozen wet heavy leaves could be moved that well. Likewise, the equipment you've invested in has sure paid off for BIG, HEAVY cleanups like that, and you can imagine rakes and lighter equipment trying to handle it. GREAT work!

    amazing fall clean up. i've done those wintery fall cleanups when everything is frozen (sucks) but they need to be done. a new subscriber, and former landscaper, 25 years, from Maine. Super impressive for a crew of 2. you two are a power house.

    Loosen your chain so you can lay the hose on the ground and blow the leaves to the hose. It will help break up the compaction from them being wet and from using the plow and save your back from lugging the heavy hose around. It will create a wall of leaves on each side of the tube and naturally funnel the leaves right into the hose. 👍🏻

  • @LawnCareNinja
    @LawnCareNinja 2 года назад +3

    The more I see these leaf vacuums, the more I realize they should have a side plate on the nozzle that you can open to relieve the suction and unclog without having to power down so much. Kinda like what they have on underwater dredges on Bering Sea Gold on Discovery. Heck, that may be something you could do on your own. What do you think?

  • @allanmcgahee9611
    @allanmcgahee9611 2 года назад +7

    That was a good idea TQ... seems like it works better having hose stretched out. Maybe do the big ones like this, where the leaves are a little father back then, use big push rack , to push everything from the sides ..then the back to that sweet spot for the hose. Maybe you won't fight it as much and not get quite as worn out. In other work, perfect TQ's idea!

    Great video as always.... I heard mention of truck squat with the plow on in a previous video. I put on Timbrens front and rear to minimize that on my F250. I also have a V-plow and haul a pallet of salt. No maintenance, no adjusting, head light beams stay straight, safer braking, $500-ish.

    Best new piece of equipment you added to the fleet is the leaf plow. I’ve had mine for 20 years and couldn’t imagine cleanups without it. We have no need for a 12K blower. We blow them with our backpacks and our 13 hp. Little Wonder. Once we hit the wall of leaves we start pushing with the leaf plow. Btw we always use the leaf plow to move leaves close to the hose. Work smarter not harder...! Why work your butt off raking when you have the plow ???

    • @edwardkane3237
      @edwardkane3237 2 года назад

      Try doing a bear hug on leaves stuck at the end of the hose when it gets stopped up. It will save the time of throttling down the leaf loader and unclogging. It work for us 90% of the time.

    Your equipment loadout is amazing!
    Been loving your channel for years!
    I think you'd have a smoother process with that max vac by taking smaller bites.
    Every time you take a big glob of leaves, you can hear it immediately bring the fan nearly to a stop. This is terribly hard on the fan, shaft, crankshaft of the engine and even the engine casing. It's almost like banging a clutch in and out over and over on your car. Bringing all that mass of the fan and driveline to a quick hard stop over and over again will absolutely shorten the life of that system. And I can tell by lookin, that NONE of your equipment is cheap. Your stuff is top-of-the-line and you keep it beautiful!
    I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job. Nothin but love here. But I worked a lot of years with a Vac-All truck, cleaning catch basins, and almost every breakdown was caused by this exact "too big-a-bite" mistake. I hope you don't take my suggestion as shade or hate. I'm just an old buy who's been around machinery and mechanical stuff all my life and I could hear how big a load those globs of leaves were putting on your system and figured I'd mention it. I'm always Blessed to see how well you and your wife get along working together.

    I feel like that big hose should be on spring assisted rollers that both allow to move around easier and also up n down without any effort, also something to prevent it from being clogged like shredders inside that start up. When actuated, but not something that would be strong enough to hurt a person but enough to pull enough leaves in to get it unclogged without having to cut it off n turn it back on, n that control should be wireless anyway.
    Maybe even a fully rc type controller for the hose lol thatd be cool

    If you can't have some fun then the job isn't worth doing. The leaf plow would you be able to get the adapter for the front frame of the 6000. That way on bigger clean ups you could have the leaf plow and push the large pipes and mulch up the stragglers. Also if you had multiple clean ups in a day you wouldn't have to prioritize one peice of equipment over another.

      We use what we need for each job. Two trucks will definitely speed up plowing.

    Really great work. I hope that you both wear proper hearing protection. That is a lot of noise.

    It's gotta be a design flaw in many leaf vacuums. We have the fradan leaf vacuum with the 31 horsepower Vanguard engine and the inside plastic piece commonly will seperate from the plastic cap leaving the inner piece covering the tank. Im assuming its from all the vibrations caused by the machine. Are we alone in seeing this?
