  • An exclusive interview with the stars of I Can't Sing The X Factor Musical.
We chat to Simon Lipkin who is the puppeteer to dog "Barlow" Cynthia Erivo who plays "Chenise" and Alan Morrissey who plays "Max" in the show.
This video also has exclusive footage and music from the show itself. We see part of the musical number "Uncomplicated Love" in which Nigel Harman who plays Simon Cowell dances with showgirls and challenged his assistant to a dance off as his contestant, Max, looks on.
Official Theatre was lucky enough to be invited to an exclusive social media press event at the London Palladium, in which theatre bloggers and members of the press were treated to some scenes and musical numbers from the show.
I Can't Sing was written by British Comedian Harry Hill alongside Steve Brown. The show is produced by music mogul, Simon Cowell himself.
The story of I Can't Sing The X Factor Musical is a work of "fiction" but draws influence from real life X Factor contestants and judges. The main narrative focuses on Chenice, a young girl from the wrong side of the tracks (or the M25) who lives with her dying grandfather, kept alive by an iron lung plugged into the solitary plug socket of their one bed caravan.
Chenice meets Max, a local plumber and things appear to take a turn for the worse as her grandfather suffers a fatal accident. Following her grandfathers dying wish for her to audition for the X Factor, Chenice overcomes her fears of singing ( "I Can't Sing!) and auditions along with Max. Chaos ensues as the pair struggle for stardom under the watchful gaze of mentors Simon, Geordie and Louis.
