That's why I didn't like visits. For all the reasons he spoke on. When i went to prison I was mad at myself. And when i came home my wife wanted to throw a party. I told her not to do that. I'm not coming from college. I'm coming from prison. Let's just get stuff together. But my son will see that and think coming from prison is comparable to coming from graduating from college or like you have succeeded at something. You failed. And it should be seen as such.
As much as it hurt at the time I didn’t want my sons to visit..didn’t even want that energy around them. Facts
I did the same thing when I went to prison. Mad at myself from volunteering for slavery.
Real talk bro
I did time too and you right everybody look at time like going on a vacation.I always thought that was the dumbest shit i ever heard. But what you said was REAL brother.
Factz plus taxz 👏🏾👏🏾🤜🏾🤝🏾
As a Haitian American this conversation gave me a lot of hope for our ppls. We are so much stronger together
Hope for "some people". Most of us are never gonna get it honestly. Many dudes can get money but can't shake the ignorance.. the mindset ain't going nowhere.
@@Swayze_S.L You gotta have faith Brotha. Be faithful.
@@mightyrichard514 Nah, faith and hope has kept us delusional for centuries. I prefer to call it like it is. Some of us will make it but a large percentage won't ever get out the mindset. Faith is why Bishop Whitehead buying Fendi and Gucci suits for church with his congregation's money.
I’m not Haitian but the shit going on down there is too much enough is enough. The government allows all the bs to go on. Then wonder why the French got killed. It’s going to happen again. Bully’s get bullied. Once people ain’t afraid to die governments fall.
Mega is that dude. When I used to work at Landspeed Records in Boston(We put out the Realness) this dude always used to drop jewels on me and my brother Red since we were the only 2 black kids that worked there. Every time he came to visit, or get his check he'd holla at us. Told us a gang of old Queens stories that I'll never forget. Dude would smoke us out and build. The only time at work that I got to goof off is when this nigga would come through. He made us so much money whatever kept him happy they allowed it. And watching young niggas 4 hours away from where he grew up, working like crazy for his record gave him the upmost appreciation towards us and he showed it.
Plus me being Haitian he always saluted. I never forgot the gems he dropped.
This man deserves props, he is spitting nothing but facts, I love this content good stuff
My dad did 17 years. I'd been going on visits since I was 9. Hard to express how traumatic it is and the things I've seen. The poignancy of him explaining the end of a visit, that feeling.... I'm glad it's over and I wish for best for those that have been though it and the those still going through it.
Shoutout to Cormega! I watched him live on TV when he went to Haiti and he performed his song fallen soldiers and that shit gave me hope going through what I was going through dealing with the aftermath of the quake. Shout out to Styles P and Immortal Technique too cuz they showed love and helped the people on the ground like real soldiers!
Mega is a real one ! He grown so much and really walks with integrity in his heart and his step ! This is the OG hiphop really needs ! Proud of my brother ✊🏾✊🏾❤️
Love and respect from Zambia Africa. 🇿🇲🇿🇲... Cormega is a legend. Always dropping jewels
Wow amazing clip.. Styles n Mega real 1’s 💯💯💯
If him and Nas never fell out they woulda been a helluva force not even just on the music but just being more of a positive light in the culture together. I see why they meddled and forced them apart early the potential was too great
You done alot of great interviews Good Brother, but this one son! I don't think Mega knows how much admiration he got out here man! I'm up in Hartford trust me he got heavy love in CT and beyond the Tri-state. Props to you for shining your spot light on this Good Brother's work, most can't break down the equation, Math.
Big up the beat from Florida.... just moved!
math keep bring brothers like this because the energy is all that and knowledge and facts being made
Those words brought a tear to my eye, I don't think more profound speech has been done. Cormega drop 💎 I concur, G.
Legendary Cormega
real conversation...positive energy
Intelligently spoken truthfully honest and I'm tired of saying we need to do something as a people but we really need to do something as a people we need to start loving each other stop hating on each other stop being jealous and start helping each other and salute each other I definitely salute the brother who spoke well in this vid.... Shout out to you forever man stay blessed
As an older man who Loves the Craft of MCing....This Is An MC Artist Proud Pops and an Excellent Example of Growth....I'm Glad We are Getring to Really Know U who Cormega is......💯Good Ish MATH.....🙏🏿💯
Everything this brother was saying I had to call my father and said thank you because a lot of he said my father told me as a young age … this interview hits different
Styles P has done great things for people in need over the years. He's a genuine person pushes the awareness of great health as hard as he can. If I'm right, Immortal Technique was part of that trip to Haiti as well.
Best interview ever, hands down. Props & respect to Mega Montana as well as the brother Math... REAL IS REAL ALWAYS
Styles interview too
"Some of the most miserable people have money" Deep
☠️💯
WE let Fubu and Karl Kani go out of business. That hit me. We have to support legit black owned businesses. We gotta change our mindset as a whole.
Had to stop my people from coming to see me. It was too difficult for me to see my kids and not be able to hug them. Seeing them through a glass and holding a phone just to speak to them was hurtful. It was easier for me not to go through that. But it also makes you vicious to survive that shi.
I am not tryin to be disrespectful but, imagine them, i mean how difficult it is for our loves ones to visit!?
I love Styles P.
All facts mega 👊🏾 same here in UK
Mega has helped me in the past with his knowledge in his rhymes. Now here listening to this so much of what he’s saying is helping me in real time. 💯
definitely needa watch this whole thing
Cormega always drop jewels. Waiting for the full episode to drop.
This episode, Styles P episode, man... just HOT FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I have always been a Mega fan... this interview and his perspective now.... Real Talk!! He is talking grown man talk and life!!! You have to grow and stop doing stuff for things. Stop taking this life for granted. Mega... real talk and great convo. Continue to move with the new energy and teach the young men to move in the energy they want not what they see
From you uk 🇬🇧...I never could figure out why cormega didn't get as big as Nas and Jay z cormega well always be one of the best lyrical rapper ever to touch the mike from Newyork queen. 💯
Mega spit more truth than most preachers💯💯🙏🏾
Love Styles P as well
See my era been on point big up mega !! Brap brap brap!!!
What a POWERFUL interview!!!! Gems to learn from.
Love to Hear the growth in a reformed mind.
That Tear Mega Talked about Styles dropped .. Reminds me of when I heard the story of Boxer Roberto Duran , and how he was able to give some Poor kids food to eat , nd those kids were so Joyful for the food.. As Duran was driving away in the car , he cried because he knew those children were living in hell nd were gonna be there to endure ..
While he went on to his Riches.
I experienced that type of feeling myself many times with people other than myself , being selfless nd Caring for my People ..
It really touches the heart nd Soul.
This why he’s one of the greatest rappers to me.
Living here in Brasil changed me the same way. I realized how much we have in the US and when I went back after my first trip down here for 3 months, I couldn't stand being in the US. People just complain and are negative about everything but they have access to everything. They don't risk electrocution in the shower. They have school and college opportunities but doing nonsense and getting locked up. My uncle was just here and he couldn't believe dudes were doing construction in flipflops. I see dudes toting big fire for traffickers in my hood all the time with flipflops on. They don't have a pair of shoes. But the people are happy. They're not angry all the time. They will help you if you need it. Every 23 seconds someone is killed by police so there's trauma for generations. People holding the bodies of their child hit by strays. It's crazy but they're happy and not negative all the time. I realized I don't need much. I don't need expensive things to be happy. I can enjoy simple things and lower my stress being here. I don't have to be designer down just to go out. They like nice things and brands but it doesn't define their life. Women ride the back of the bike or sidesaddle with their man. You can talk to fine women all day, you don't need a Benz to say hello and converse. A lot of dudes take advantage of that and just come here to knock off the women. But its like oppressing them because they don't have money and need to feed their kids. We really can be the oppressors and carry that same thing we don't like to other places less fortunate and oppress them. I see it all the time. If you don't travel, get out there and really look. It will give you a whole new perspective.
Best show ever Mega still the realness
Y’all need to drop this interview immediately
This is a real one
Cormega said enough! We're insatiable. Had to pause the video & agree!
Same thing Kanye been I saying since the interview with sway when Mega mentioned Fubu and Karl Kani.. " What are we doing"
Yes Kanye is also saying plenty of dumb shit nowadays 😂
I could listen to cormega allday he the definition of real
So much greatness spoken
Much much Respect. Every time Cormega builds its truth & Wisdom. Hearing talk about Haiti is Dope. People have no idea of the reality out there. Peace to everybody on the podcast. ✊🏾🇭🇹
Not many people will tell their story about jail & keep it 💯.
If many did keep it 💯, not many of our brothers and sisters will be locked up. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Bruh you need a platform just for this subject👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great messages ✊🏾
Peace Mega, haven't seen him in yrs, Fly Tye flashed smiling FG
I said the exact same thing. We give our last dime to gucci nike LV but let fubu and Karl Kani go out of business
I remember seeing friends and family on visits and then at the end you look about and see all the kids and wives crying, the guys inside trying to hold it together… I’m imagining what the rest of their evening is gonna be like.
I used to come out pure angry or mad sad and I was just visiting. Had more road rage on the way home from visits than any other time. Was worse when I took people’s kids to visit their dads and you’d have this mad silence the whole way home.
Fire interview
That a powerful discussion
Right On Mega....Salute
Braveheart - I Wanna Live.
💯👍
Mega a real one definitely speaking facts big OG
Straight facts Bro. Thanks for speaking out. We used to celebrate in the projects when someone came home from doing a bid. Sports saved me but 99% of the homies did time on Rikers and upstate
In 2008 all the street legends I heard about started coming home from the 90s and they was coming home to nothing, living with women working regular job and I remember telling myself why live great for a few years when I could get a job now and be set by 30
Not too long ago, someone told me something similar. It was something like most of the world is in poverty and most of the world finds happiness, but a small amount of the people have all the wealth and many of them have no peace in their lives.
Word Mega! Real talk!!
Grown men message
Love this podcast
True meaning got me through a bid NUFF SAID
Yo cormega is real one yo math keep doing what u doing I'm coming from East St Louis to be able to hear some of the coldest mc of our life time to hear them talking real shit yooo math you are most definitely top three real shit my nigga
Phenomenal Steam Salute on this Build 🖤🖤🙏💯
Salute mega on Brooklyn humility is everything man make money money don't make a man
seeing the growth and change in cormega is truly great and he is still ill on the mic.
Mega one of my favorites of all time fa'sho. I love da brotha for being a solid brotha. Dat comes before da music. I only rock wit brothahz who is what dey rap about. Styles P is another brotha who stand sturdy himself. Salute to both of my brothaz 💪🏿💪🏿👑👑
He ain’t lying….. a lot of ppl in other countries have far less than all this shit we got over here. Can you imagine walking around barefoot everywhere you go?! We got to humble ourselves.
Started visiting loved ones from a young age, it wasn't easy for a little girl, wasn't easy for all the *predominantly* women & children I saw in those visiting rooms...
I never did time, they got more than enuf of my blood's years.
I would like to see an AZ interview! AZ is the artist that use to run with NAS. Nobody really knows his backstory. I been a fan since the early 90's. His albums that I grew up to were, ¨Doe or Die¨ (1995), ¨Pieces of a Man¨ (1998) and ¨9 Lives¨ (2001). Does he have a similar mindset and experiences as Cormega and Nas? Or does he prefer to live off The Grid?
Real talk mi G💯🇨🇦🇩🇲
My pops went to prison when I was in third Grade and went I would visit him he made a effort to let me know the conditions of prison life was not the move & that what ever choices I make in the world think first & make sure I don't end up in that situation. when pops got out of prison i was graduating from high school. Growing up on the South side of Chicago The hood and peers influenced me But I never let it take me under I kept hearing my pops advice when ever it was decision making times and my peers could never pressure me into loosing my freedom even tho I'm one of the Guys. salute to mega he drops jewels and cares about our people. #Dantana773 #60621certified
"we let Fubu & Kani go outta business" 💯
STAY WOKE!!!
Mega a legend!
May Allah Bless u 1000 fold🤲👏

RIP The Jacka. Cormega always blessed the west coast dropping verses on Jackas music. Barney (More Crime) remix with Mega is a Bay Area classic.
YO NOBODY TRULY RESPECT US SHOUTOUT TO YOU AND TARIQ NASHEED. ‘One Love’ lol
Facts great interview brotha
Yo i did 13 years in California prison system. And everything bra saying is right on point. Prison is humiliating. Period.
I come from a war torn country so it helped me to think twice when I was growing up.
