    Taipei 101's elevator speed is about 16.8m/s. Still runs quite fast as compared to the taller towers that exist today.

  • @Neosaigo
    @Neosaigo 12 лет назад

    @TheNinerion Mainly because Taiwan and Japan are basically brothers.
    Even though their governments often argue over land and fishing territory, but it is like argument among siblings. The people in both country consider each other good friends. Especially after the Japan earthquake, and Taiwan's unprecedented aid.
    Not to mention neither likes Korea and China's government much. XD

    I am a elevator man in the US. Thats not the fastest in the world (CN Tower in Canada is). Free falling will max out at 77 mph so a elevator won't even get close. FYI.

    It's 60.6 km/h fast!
    EDIT: This is actually not the fastest now. By June 28, 2016, a faster one was uploaded. At 64.8 KMPH, or 1080 M/M, the Shanghai Tower Observation Deck is the fastest. As you might have seen in the video, this elevator, or the Taipei 101, goes 1010 M/M.

    • @carultch

      It takes 15 seconds to speed up to its top speed of 16.8 m/s, and 15 seconds to slow back down to rest from t=21 sec to t=36 sec. This is an acceleration of 1.12 m/s^2 for both speeding up and slowing down.
