I still want the super duper firing big guns (admittedly, for 20 inch guns, That’d be insane) I know it’s possible with smaller main guns, but still, Super Alsace Lorraine Also, I like the small ships (as small as the gigantic French Baguette super battlecruiser can be, which isn’t very small)
I've managed Super-Duper-Firing 12x20in guns with the Super Richelieu hull You have to bump the Tower back, place a barbette on the elevated platform *behind* the pre-built barbette, the tallest barbette you can manage, then on the shortest barbette you can, place the second quad 20 on the main deck, with your third turret forward of that with no barbette. If you have a decently high draft, you can get all three turrets forward firing. (edit) So I went back to the design, back-most barbette is the Super Tall barbette, middle barbette is the Huge barbette, draught is 0.5%.
~Designs ship. ~Despite A-XY layout, results in fore weight offset. ~Ignores larger secondary towers of greater displacement. ~Places NO secondary guns aft of the smokestack. ~shrugs and accepts offset.
It's pretty funny that the first ship is called "Belliqueuse" since it's a word used in French to designate peoples who love brawling and are always looking for a fight.
22:00 with the small side barbettes on a wider hull, you can do some weird stuff with secondaries, 27:00 the secondary tower can fit triple super firing 9 inch guns also, the French had really fast ships, Le Terrible (45,25 knots, Richelieu (31 knots, Béarn (I forgot), I also usually prefer the funnel on the secondary tower if singular (Things I don’t like about the looks) The barbettes are usually too high, so you have to sift through them to find one that matches, It’s usually caused by the immensely low secondary towers with barbettes That’s the only issue I have with some of these ships, Also, Grand Saint Louis? There’s also a normal Saint Louis... And a St. Louis, (American)
I think the victoire is just like what happened when someone decided: we removed all the tertiaries, quaternaries, and whatnot when we made dreadnought... so if we removed the secondaries in favor of big guns, would it be the dreadnought dreadnought?
Some interesting ships. Looking forward to seeing the DD screen you build to protect them. I really like the concept of lots of separate ships, makes it realistic, in terms of how an Admiral brings a mixed squadron to work together.
During the Steam Beta opt in for this Alpha game, before the current build of the update, you could put Super Duper Duper firing 406s turrets for that hull at maximum draught. After the the update that created the current build, now you can get the same result with 356s,but using Unlock in Custom shows that nations with a slim enough turret retained the ability to make these frontal fire heavy monsters. And as a bonus, you can easily get Super Duper Duper Duper firing secondries on the back with the largest first type of compact tower, but if you're the Spanish, you can use 254s for maximum insanity. I'll ping on the Discord with the image so you can see what it looks like.
Unique. Isn't that French for 'Weird'? Not a French fan it has to be said. Will be interesting to see how you get on. Good Hunting! Or should that be 'Bonne Chasse'?
Not using all quads? :( That said, on the Diderot you missed a chance to get an amidships secondary turret for or aft of the tiny funnel. Even more memery could have ensued. The Gasgogne is certainly *experimental.* I would rename her the "Orleans" as the French improvement on HMS Agincourt. :)
1:03:20 Might it have been possible to shift the Y and Z turrets backwards, and then put the secondary tower on the aft deck? Or does the game force you to keep it on the upper deck?
Wait, you do know what Leverette means, right?... Also, since Ultimate Admiral uses real names, Someone was named Leverette... Well, most people outside of France won’t know
I used to get ads for this game that made it look like some cheesy mobile game. Turns out it's actually a bit more, they need to have a talk with their advertising department
Remember, the conventional design for French ships is being unconventional
I still want the super duper firing big guns (admittedly, for 20 inch guns, That’d be insane)

Name that ship "Napoleon"!!!!

12" might seem so weird in accuracy due to it actually having longer range then the 11 and that mattering, also its a triple rather then a quad

could also have put the funnel behind the secondary tower
I love the Gloire’s 6” in the tower, makes it have a cloak and dagger feel to it

"Lev*ette" ...

I saw French Campaign and was like… “YES. TIME FOR BOW IN BATTLESHIPS!” Lol

Er not to spoil *too* much but I end up building a grand total of one destroyer the whole campaign 😅
sits and weeps quietly in the corner
It’s a modernized super pre-dreadnought!
So this is a France that just continued to build Capital Ships in the same way it did in the Jaune Ecole days?
I like it!
@48:00 you really should have renamed that ship Agincourt. Sure the frogs lost. But come-on 😂
I was very sad when it 'only' had 6 turrets

Gascogne and Belliqueuse are looking like my favorite pugs of the waves for the campaign
That is a very serious sonar array for a supposedly "oldest" dreadnought :D
You know as well as I do how much the AI loves torp spam 😅 I’ll justify it as a relatively easy system to be upgraded after construction…
@@BrotherMunro Oh yes. I'm considering a torpedo spam campaign of my own in retaliation.
Good luck! I find that usually ends up with me getting very salty over the AI’s magic bow thrusters and spider senses 😂
@@BrotherMunro Yeah it's insane. They really need to address how the AI does it.
Engineers: How much bb’s you want?
BrotherMunro: yes
Would have liked to have seen you mix it up with your ammo types too. But overall pretty interesting, it will be fun to watch you drive all these.
The Gascogne just made me twitchy the entire while there at the end as you left it as a cordite...
I never even noticed 😂 oh well just makes her the only ship in the fleet using weird powder for no reason which completely fits with the theme 😅
No one blows up like Gascogne
Belliqueuse pretty much looks like what I imagine pre-dreadnoughts would be if they were still being made in the 1940's
See my comment on the community post about introducing gun customisation into the game: 12" really-heavy cruiser autoloading railguns.
40:00 the name Levrette, is a naughty word in french
The true french role play experience
Unique. Isn't that French for 'Weird'?
Not a French fan it has to be said. Will be interesting to see how you get on.
Good Hunting! Or should that be 'Bonne Chasse'?
I’m more focused on Leverette
First ship is like a 40s era Pre-Dreadnought.
I imagined her as being the oldest ship in the fleet probably built in the 20’s & upgraded later
Not using all quads? :(

50:08 Brave to go Cordite III with a 6 turret setup. XD
Yes totally on purpose that 😬
@@BrotherMunro Renamed to Explosion class
I love the 12’ cruiser! Though I do wish it had better secondaries than 2”😞
With the aft weight offsets was it not possible to move the funnels forward? And what benefits do you get from reducing draft vs downsides?
The gascogne is the best ship ever haha that's amazing
1:03:20 Might it have been possible to shift the Y and Z turrets backwards, and then put the secondary tower on the aft deck?

First ship: modernized pre-dreadnaught
Oh god, the battlecruiser "levrette" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Guys, please translate that word from french and you will understand 😂
Wait, you do know what Leverette means, right?...
Also, since Ultimate Admiral uses real names,

I believe the French renamed the captured sloop of war HMS Hound ‘Leverette’ so the meaning was more literal than the modern usage

*Beautiful*
Why not a Super Mỳoko?
