- Part 1 of a silage video that I have from 1988. Filmed in Dilhorne Staffordshire
Tractors
David Brown 1690
Leyland 272
Marshall 802
Marshall 804
Case 1594
Reminds me of my childhood sailing and watching the proper tractor working, real tractor driving in them days!!
Nothing has changed really in 40 years other than the size of the equipment which has now reached the limits of our field systems. Progression will be only from driver less equipment either self controlled by GPS or from a driver sat in an office with a hand controller.
All 1690 david Brown's blew black smoke on the chopper, I remember a local lad buying a new one and he had no luck with it, replaced it with a crystal 12045 and things went much smoother for him.
Great video.nice outfit
Those were the days, tractor wasn't working if it wasn't smoking, remember some of the big Fords, in it's day that would have been an impressive outfit.
Lovely. The 1690 appears to be much more in command of the chopper. A bit smokey 😃
No smoke no poke 😉
No smoke no poke ! 🤣 more so my dad going up a gear because he was being filmed 🙄
@@adamhurst4246 he certainly wasn’t given the poor tractor an easy time........ ken always give tractors on the chopper a hard life😂😂
This would have been after 1986. The 1594 is a commemorative edition which were made in 1988 when production of David browns was ending. Great video too, I’m local in stoke-on-Trent
May have been some in 87 but not sure 🤔 pretty sure they were 88. Can’t beat the David browns, we have 6
Shes runnin with that harvester, great power👌.
