    Hey man. I know you do rack stores every few weeks for the open box use clones. There are 2 new milestone fragrances that are out that have bottles resembling creed house. The name is "grade one" this bottle looks like an adventus bottle but smells like a green Irish tweed clone. Then there is also a white bottle with silver label called "grade one silver water" which i thought was a silver mountain water clone but after smelling it I thought it smelled very similar to green Irish tweed as well. After hearing you review of Himalaya, I believe this is what that may be cloning with its similarity to GIT. I'm just hoping you find them both just to review them and give me your thoughts since you have both real comparables.

    • @DannyBellTheAuthor
      @DannyBellTheAuthor Год назад

      @@TheFLiZiP oh boy, okay, let's take a brief look at history. And for the record, I can't confirm any of this, nor can anyone, so take it with a grain of salt.
      As I've heard it, Pierre Bourdon shopped around early on and didn't exactly believe in himself. Creed eventually took him in, and Green Irish Tweed released in 1985. A couple of years later, he releases Cool Water under Davidoff.
      Now, even if Bourdon took the exact recipe for Green Irish Tweed to Davidoff, there's a few things to consider:
      1) There's a gulf between Davidoff and Creed in terms of quality, especially back in the 80s. Say what you will about Creed today and whether or not you think their quality has dropped in recent years, for a very long time they were one of THE premium products. So the cost to create a bottle of GIT was always going to be significantly more than Cool Water.
      2) There's also creative control. The simple truth is that these things are definitely not a one to one, in fact they're not even the same category. Green Irish Tweed is green, Cool Water is aquatic.
      The fact is that I don't want to believe Pierre Bourdon tried to copy his own work and double dip, that paints him in a dishonorable light. What I think is more likely is that while working on Green Irish Tweed and created a twist. While there are some slight similarities, anyone who has smelled both will tell you they are leagues apart.

  • @wisingup4894
    @wisingup4894 Год назад +1

    Well, for the alternatives, I don't like Cool Water. There are few similar perfumes to use, for example Armaf Tres Nuit. If you can handle chemical explosion in the beginning and more sweet vibe, in the drydown it's nice. Also there are higher players in this game - Parfums Vintage Verbena Fields, which is aimed basically on drydown notes. Very nice. Or Montagne Parfums Irish Verbena, which comes more violety and is a good substitude. But in the end, it's still a substitide of what is great for itself, for what it is. If you are willing to spend for Creed, just don't think about it and do it. It became popular for a reason and it's still worth the price. In my top 5 favs.

It’s the one thing that I think could pursued me not to but this fragrance. I live in Kentucky and citrus fragrances just don’t work here because the weather is so often cold, grey and wet, and dreary. For example I love dolce and Gabbana light blue intense. I’ve bought at least three bottles of it, but it just doesn’t work here in Kentucky. So please if anyone can help persuade me to purchase or not to please do so. The big question is "Why do you wear cologne?"
    If all you care about is how you smell in public, there is no reason to buy GIT for $200 discount to $470 retail. In the dry down in the air, no one in the room with you will know the difference between GIT and Armaf Tres Nuit, Al Haramain L’Aventure Knight or Rasasi Egra (though Egra is closer to CW than GIT).
    Cool Water, as its name implies is far more aquatic. I still love and wear Cool Water and several flankers, but it's very different than GIT.
    If you're in the hobby or looking to get into it... at least get a decant of GIT. It's less sweet and more earthy and "green" than the clones. It is perfectly balanced and one of the best made colognes I've ever smelled. There is no replacement that hits the same quality. I do own and use the clones I listed, too, but I'm kind of a fragrance hoarder I guess.

      Yep. This is the norm now. Real
      Ambergris is rarely used. Although creed had been using it up until a year ago.

    Green Irish Tweed is the only Creed that I think is worth the money.
    It smells so unique, so timeless, and so high quality, and even though I have Tres Nuit, which I love and is a great clone, it's just not the OG in terms of quality and performance.
    I know I will get it eventually, but as I always say, "eventually" is close to never. Maybe as a Christmas present to myself, who knows.

    • @gerardgeorge
      @gerardgeorge  Год назад +1

      There are others I think are worth it but GIT is too 3 from the house and arguably their best. You deserve a gift to yourself!

    • @logeybear3018
      @logeybear3018 Год назад

      Well, it just arrived yesterday; I couldn't pass on the price I saw for it.
      Since my bottle of Tres Nuit is now redundant, I'll be giving it to a fellow coworker who I know will like it (and whose wife I know will very much love it).
      In my top 5 of all time, for sure, and one I'll immediately get another bottle of once I run out.

    christ.. why everyone keeps saying that the "all black bottle" is a new thing. It was ALWAYS black bottle (just not the 75ml, 30ml) The 120ml was always black. It's the shape and ml of the bottle that changed.

      @gerardgeorge it was my favorite niche of all time till 2019. I have a 2015 bottle 120ml and it smells 100 times better then anything from 2019 to now. It had a creamy lemon verbena note that was to die for. Now it's so bunk and it last 3 hours then becomes a skin scent if u are lucky
