- The mim is home of some of the finest mineral specimens ever unearthed. Now, for the first time, take a look at 99 of the more than 2,000 specimens on exhibit at the mim. This is a look, few people ever get to enjoy!!!
Saved one of the best specimens I've ever seen for last! I've been to the Smithsonian Mineral Exhibit three times in my life and I still haven't seen all their specimens. This is an extremely nice selection of minerals. I'm still drooling. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you friend, really beautiful and peaceful... This world need it. We human beings need to grateful and enjoy our earth
this would’ve been great with labels and sizes.... but it was also good for polishing up on sight identifications. i think i’m 84/99 😆
I completely agree. This was just a quick slide show I threw together for the Mineral Talks LIVE interview. I had it sitting around and finally just decided to post it so that people can enjoy. If I were to re-do it perfectly, I'd include species, locale and size. But thank you for your feedback.
Amazing thanks for posting. Those fluorites were insane. I want one so bad, maybe I could get one if I sold my house🤔
Wow , what a beautiful collection of minerals ........
Dear Brian, decoding the ids has become my old lady obsession! I have lists and notes and have watched endless WHIT, WHIM and WHISMAM for 2008-2021 looking for the samples before Mr Edde collected them learning a ton in the process. Please put us all out of our misery and publish a list. I just found #79 published in MinRec March-April 2022 page 196 LUDLOCKEITE formerly from your dad's collection and now at the Mim.....yipee! One more down.
oh my .. those are some fine specimens .... WOW
I smiled the entire time I watched this
Absolutely beautiful photographs nice music and a test for my memory, i enjoyed that, thank you !
Wow. Breathtaking! I'd love to visit it in person one day! Thanks for the video Bryan!

Any time!
These are breathtaking. God in His magnificence. I would have e joyed having them labeled.
truely incredible pieces - but how about the specimen size and species and locality?
Species name, size and locale are all important information to have. We all agree. This video was thrown together yesterday- the day before the interview - because I knew we wouldn't use these in the interview yet I thought people might want to see the photos any way.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Nature amazes.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful beautiful ~~
Unas piezas increíbles pero un poco oscuras las imágenes, aun así lo he disfrutado mucho.
Por esto deben de existir siempre los museos.
Hmm... would've been better with some labels. Then again, it is a fun little challenge to see just how many minerals I can identify.
la beauté de la nature fascinant
So in the comments, can someone put at least the name of the minerals ? Because for some pieces I really don't know.

So, there I am having a transcendent audio visual experience, and the first commercial break almost destroys me. I was better prepared for the next ones, but, I may have suffered lasting damage. Overall worth it, though. Thanks.

7:03 what mineral is that? I love it
Kind of looks like apophyllite.
This a Phosphophyllite bouquet from Bolivia.
a love story
Whose idea was it to loop the same song over and over??
THAT is your take-away from this? Glass half empty much?
Thats fair.. I admit,...and some pictures of rocks! Kidding!! The specimens are undoubtedly world class and I loved the music at first, but your right! I was being a big baby last night huh?
LOL!!! Nah, I totally get it. If this were a full-blown production, there are A LOT of things I would have changed. However, it was just something I threw together quickly and finally decided to post it, in all its imperfection, so at least got the chance to enjoy the specimens. Maybe some day I'll get a chance to do a REAL film on just the mim Museum and the man who created it.
