To be honest with you, when she started sing on that night, I felt like something's wrong with the way she sang, and at that time I felt like "yeah, Aina has higher chance to win" but towards the end I felt her passion and I was amazed with her courage to reach that high note that usually in that way of singing, people will have problem with their pitching but she did amazing job to continue singing that way until the end. And by the time it end, I just keep applausing for her like I felt so proud. After that night, I found out that she has lost her voice on that rehearsal and she hold herself from coughing as the after effect of COVID-19 that she just recovered from.

She won two awards, best performance and second place (song).
I appreciate your comment regarding what the song needs (the emotion that she needs to show). Some people just say she's shouting even without understanding that it needs to be like that. In fact, according to AJL head of judge, Cinta wasn't in the top 3 during pre-judging. But Marsha's performance that night pushed the song up to the second place, because, quoting him, "every word, she (Marsha) really meant it".
According to Marsha, Cinta (means love) is a song about one's challenging journey to find God. Here's the loose translation to the chorus:

I actually cried when she sings and yes her vocal and voice when she sings during separuh akhir more comfortable and good in my opinion but this felt more to me
There's 2 rather important elements that did not help her.
1) She just recovered from covid 2 days before this performance.
2) She lost her voice for about 5 minutes on the morning of the show.
And...... she was trying to avoid coughing while performing.
This is already an amazing performance, just imagine if she was fully healthy !
I agree, if was awesome considering her conditions.
Despite just recovered from covid and did not manage to get proper practice and rehearsal, she gave everything she had that night, and left the stage with one of the most impactful and unforgettable performances in AJL history. 16 years of blood, sweat and tears finally paid off.

I agree everything u say about little bit quieter. But here's why she touched most of us.
She just recovered from covid a few days before the competition and was devastated because she there is possibility that she could not be able to perform. The song is about God and acceptance towards fate. Thats why she went all out because to me, she's 'crying'. She just go crazy, screamed and stress every word in the lyrics because she already accepted if she couldnt perform. But she could. Hence, the yell and runs.

She said she was in pain while singing & was struggling to refrain herself from coughing. She cried so hard just right after she step down the stage. Her vocal teacher has commented on this performance & she did highlight a couple of things that you mentioned here. She also said that Marsha has a strong will & spirit. Like you said, she's brave!

Standing ovation to the singer because i was able to find out that she lost her voice during the rehearsal session and on that competition night, she just owned the #ajl36 stage with her spectacular performance and win the second runner up and also win the best performance of the night. She deserve it. Congrats #marshamilan for making a comeback after 16 years in this industry.

This performance was the highlight of AJL36. She gave us a very memorable and impactful performance. Do you know that she was holding herself not to cough the whole entire performance during that night because she has just recovered/still recovering from covid the second time it hit her? Mad respect for her! Such a fighter! And after 16 long years, she finally got the recognition she deserved! She’s also only a few marks away from Aina for best vocal too!

Right before the performance, Marsha feels like she want to cough but if she starts then it might affect the whole performance so she has been holding from cough ( she was feeling so helpless she felt all the techniques might wont work with her so she just have to went for it with her feelings she just want it to be over).. Cinta means love, in this song she was singing about love to God so she really believes that God carried her through the performance cuz she literally not in the condition to sing ( as a result she was being extra emotional and expressive she was really feeling presence of God beside her).. Upon finishing she went backstage and have a breakdown she was really dissapointed with herself for messing up her debut but at the same time grateful god give her that strength to carry on ( Marsha mentioned it many times if she had the chance, she wants to redo it but it is what it is)
She/this song is also the 2nd place winner of AJL36 (runner up to SOG + Shila). Marsha won 2 awards that night and individually, she was the biggest winner. If there is a star who was born during the AJL36 final, that person is Marsha. She is FINALLY being noticed by everyone in the music industry. This performance alone have seen the highest viewership leaving all others by a huge margin. Safe to say that her booking fee will not be the same anymore.
Thanks for this Reaction. All of Marsha’s fans were crying knowing Covid infect her once again. But the moment she stood there and perform like her life is on the line, that is how all of us know she will bring back at least one or two of the awards. And because of that memorable performance she won Best Performance n 1st Runner up. We can’t say anything but cry along with her victory. The 17 years of waiting is not short, consider she was known as singer first before actor or presenter for a show. She finally make marked on the industry for all to remember Marsha the Singer. I can write this all day long of how that night is her night that makes us proud. I am really hoping for more composer to give her a good song so that she can have another AJL epic performance
Thats the issue... relying on composers to produce songs for singers.
Some singers do not have the luxury to have composers offer them songs and have to work extra hard.
Only a handful can compose and sing their OWN songs.

As i told u before, Marsha is really expressive in her performance and singing that is always be with her, even her vocal teacher told her to tone down it a bit to and give more space for technical aspects cuz Marsha really sing from heart ( in a way less technical sometimes) but here i guess she couldnt help it.. Marsha got covid few days before AJL, she cried and thinking to find someone to replace her ( she thought she will never had the chance to perform in AJL) but then she just decided to do it herself day by day the cough gets worse ( the first rehearsal was the best people said and the last rehearsal was the worst which is only few hours before AJL and she lost her voice and literally can only sing in her headvoice throughout the song, she posted the footage in her instagram).. She tried to overcome by doing vocal warmups ( Shila Amzah said she heard Marsha has been doing warmups 30minutes straight cuz their prep room was next to each other)
I would have definitely felt stressed in her situaton. She's a hero and I'm glad the performance came out well! ;)

Best performance was chosen 100% from viewers vote.
Few singers sang before her, but no one was impressive until she performed. That is why she got many votes from viewers.
Towards the end, there are a few performances was very good too, but since viewers only can vote once, Marsha won the best performance.
I also vote for her and I didn't regret at all. 2nd and 3rd best performance was Aewo (Shiha Zikir) and SOG (Shila Amzah) for me.
She’s doing yoga. It’s really help her to built the muscle and posture while singing and get through to notes.

i heard her live phone intvw over a tv program the day before AJL and she cough pretty bad and that worries everyone. But during the intriductory before she start singing that night, the host mentioned her rehearsal was mind blowing and everyone was giving her stnading o, could she do it one more time....indeed she sang it beautifully
I agree to you. This is new arrangement, they make it higher suits to grande AJL since its competition. and the singer need to adjust to the higher key and arrangement. For me if she sang with quiet or relax as you said, the new emotion n new arrangement will not reach to the audience. And will get bored to. She push her limits and make it all out and this is her chance. She did really a good job. She makes impact to AJL this year. Some singer too technically too carefull but some singer just did her best.

Dear coach Yazik, did u know that Marsha is Idayu’s best friend. 🤍 Yes for this finals, Marsha did have 3 vocal coaches to help her. For Aina, she was self trained for the Finals. Yes totally agreed with coach Yazik if she sang more perfect, we wouldn’t know whether she could give this magical moments. So it’s Marsha preference, she gave her all and we all love it 🥰. But yet totally agreed with coach Yazik, the best vocal belongs to Aina tho.

thank you for your reaction and i agreed with you, nobody captured my eyes on that night until Marsha performed. She was alone, no props or backup dancer, yet the way she delivered this song was incredible. plus the lyrics about the love of God, and Marsha really did a good job, so connected and goosebumps everytime i watch this.

The most moment I'm waiting for..
Actually the song lyrics are more about love to God. There’s no greater love than love to our God. Means that she’s trying to keep running and be closer, keep flying even higher and keep searching. But, she’s forgot and always forgot that, she just need to close her eyes to feel His love and His presence. And also the lyrics touch about the struggle in ones life and how ones should remember Him and ask for peace whenever things get hard. The lyrics really hit her well for every struggles she’s been through to be on that majestic and grand stage. So, I guess that’s why she can carry that emotion. And she’s a kind of singer who tell the lyrics not sing the lyrics. I’m really proud of her and really love the lyrics 😊❤️
I was captivated through out her performance.. even though I felt that she was struggling with the end part of the song where a lot of high notes that to some extent I heard her shouting more than singing

But she improved so much since Akademi Fantasia (reality show).
'Cinta' is composed by a husband & wife team, ie by Akim aka Hang Nadim & Stacy aka Bunga Cantik (they also wrote the lyrics) especially for Marsha Milan and will most probably be used as an OST in a drama series soon (if it hasn't be used as one already). Marsha explained her interpretation of the song as all about her awareness of a bigger kind of love ie that towards the Creator in the following video at
