Interesting. So, if somebody is on the twinkie diet and doesn't eat vegetables or potassium bearing foods, maybe they can't keep the brain's negative charge very well. Would they then lose some capacity for cognitive function? Or is there some way for your brain to signal some enzyme (or whatever) to find more potassium in muscles and release it in the service of the potassium/sodium pump? I like this kind of information better if there is an important practical function that I can consider.
