This is one of those songs you hear someone playing live at a classy restaurant and everyone stops to appreciate it
From someone who has played stuff like this at fancy places, let me tell you, those snooty people never give one shit. You finish a song and literally no one even acknowledges it, you just start the next song up.

Sometimes, I would escape from the chaotic and just come here, to this channel to enjoy the music. This is like one of the cozy place in youtube that I keep finding myself coming back to it. Other times, I would play this while on my way to school and it’s so chilling.

This is by far my favorite arrangement of Misty. Since I've discovered it I always find myself coming back to this once in a while.

in 2018, i remember listening to this everyday, on the car rides to school, and back home. i was not exactly in the best mental state that year, but i feel this werid longing for the past, when i would look out into the busting streets on the drive to school, and have this play in the background.

One of the best arrangements I have heard of that great song.
He plays just the right chords, arpeggios and solos. He never over plays. I also play piano and I am learning a lot from Mr. Austin.

My grandfather has been a jazz pianist his whole life. Playing in multiple cruise ships and visiting places all around the world. I recently started getting interested in jazz arrangements and improvisations. When I had my grandpa listen to your videos, he was not only astonished, but after a long time, I saw him getting emotional. Rupert Austin, you're a magnificent pianist and I'm honestly surprised I couldn't find any further information online except your RUclips channel. I don't know if you're occupation is music related, and (from personal experiences), I understand that in our days talent can be easily disregarded and overlooked, but know that you deserve a huge and successful career in music.

It’s important that people who learn by theory have access to an elongated sheet music instead of the piecemeal pdf that’s shown as pianists play. This means you can only play four bars ( if you ‘ve paused the pdf) Keep on showing many bars at a time . Thank you for the lessons

fascinating! I don't know if you know there already are lyrics to this jazz standard - written by Johnny Burke, set to this tune composed by Errol Garner. Your lyrics paint a visual picture, and are less saccharine and romantic than Burke's verses.

For me these triplet/tresillo walks did the job, just nice and slow with a bit swing. Not sure which transition you mean, but I think the theme it's biggest strength is its beginning with D->Db (chords Ebma7->Bbm9). But that's just what I fell for, as a beginning jazz pianist, still plenty to learn, understand and appreciate for me I think ^^
