Fun fact, this is actually from the game Sonic 4 episode 2. It is a mobile game, pretty mid. But yeah the boss is the death egg heart and is the final boss. Honestly surprised they tried to make it accurate as in the real game you actually switch gravity and you walk on rings and you need to get to the heart by going through holes in the rings, very cool.

I just bought this for my nephew's birthday. This was definitely useful cuz the instructions were weird. Just wish there was a motor to keep it going

The "Death Egg" from the Sonic Movie is actually the Death Egg Robot. Also, Sonic's arms are meant to be swept back. It's his running pose from all the modern games.

The death egg set I recognize it it is based on the final boss of sonic 4 episode 2 a discontinued sonic game You can tell based on the red and blue ring and the egg heart it was a deadly final boss fight.

Insanely cool idea for a toy, but the actual play feature is very disappointing and not worth the price imo. If you want a better looping Sonic toy, I highly recommend the Green Hill Zone set instead. If you just want a Death Egg toy to display on your shelf though, it does the job I suppose.
Only those ones who played Sonic 4 know that this toy is wrong by the way to beat egg man from hitting him at the bottom.
Putting this dang toy together was the equivelent of beating all bosses throughout the sonic series.... im mindblown its so pointless.... mechanics were NOT well thought out. Thanks for assisting with the building of this mess....

Lol TwT the first game it appeared in was from like 1992 or something so it did come out after the Death Star and was seemingly named after it as a reference. So yes the Death Egg was definitely at least a bit of a reference to it.
As you know I'm a SEGA fan at heart, and have a few favourite Mega Drive/Master System games. I've got the Nintendo Switch game, Sonic Origins Plus, and set up the Nintendo account needed to play each of the four Mega Drive games (Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles and CD) as Amy Rose. It's the best Switch game I've ever played so far. You can play the Anniversary versions of the games, where you can use a coin to replay each of the special stages to get the Chaos Emeralds, the normal classic modes, Boss Rush and the Mirror Modes, which need to be unlocked first. Mirror Mode is playing the game as normal except you go in the reverse direction. You ought to play it sometime. Nice playset, but I'm happy with the figures I've got.

I'm trying to put it together now and these instructions are the absolute worst.
So I was watching, then before you even opened the box, I was like “ooooh it’s king dedede! Oh wait I was thinking of Kirby😅” I’m serious this actually happened. (Idk if that’s his name I haven’t watched Kirby in a long time😅)

It's a good toy it's just a bit confusing and you have to press the button really hard, but other than that it's awesome.

Dont have it but it could have had so much potential it could have had places for the toy silver sonic and the toy death egg robot sure it could be giant if it fit the death egg robot but then they could just make a smaller one for it

@@SquirrelStampedeNo there's a series of games called Sonic 4 lol. In episode 2 I believe it features this Death Egg but episode 3 was cancelled so the story was left in complete I believe. It is also more of a modern game with the designs while Sonic and Knuckles is classic and pixelated.

So after watching this I honestly think they may have over thought the toy, this is one of those better to be a standard playset and not so gimmicky kind of toys, think original starwars deathstar concept, sega did when they put the thing in the games, a multi level playset with trap doors, baddies, surprise boxes, and when it comes to Robotic, come on in the games he had a giant robot to fight sonic in the end, oh wait they already made the one from sonic the hedgehog 2.
I'm just saying I really think they focused on the gimmick more then the play aspect of this, the outer shell looks spot on, to the game, and Archie comics, but the rest just seems rushed.
100%! I wanted to touch a little bit on that too, but ha ha, I was lost in the contraption. YES! Totally the better play option is what you described. How cool would that be to display all the 2" in different rooms. Oh well, maybe next year!
@@SquirrelStampede well that just seems to be their major flaws with the gimmicks in the sonic line, I mean I get it, hit eggman/robotnik 3 times then boom his thing flies apart, but in truth they could save the money on all that extra tooling and use it for ether better items or more products, take the eggmobil the set that you could design several final level Robotnik vehicles, save the tooling to make the exploding feature and put it towards like a land version of the eggmobil, car-drill tank-egg walker, and all the parts from both sets would be able to swap around, heck even make expansion packs for other boss fight scenes. And with the death egg here like I said could have been multi level playset, that they could have sold as module sets that could have stacked on top of each other, or attached to each other from the sides, or heck both ways that way it would be like an army builder concept of an adult wanted to spend the money and make a wall size playset they could, or say it was a gift for a kids, well no worries it can be reconfigured to be a separate scene if they got two by accident.
Gee great now I'm overthinking this.
The Robotnik boss fight is based on the Egg Heart from Sonic 4 I believe (i am not certain which episode).

First up get an actual death Star toy if you want to play with a death Star not a death egg they study exact they sign on the death Star it doesn't look like any fun it looks like it was a waste of money and the qualities just bad they have so many supports which they could not have hit it in that big ugly dome and also the details are what matter but also The Depot suck what a waste of money return that instantly get good things spend your money good bye thank you😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊

Worst instructions. No words. Top lock-in doesn’t snap in so it falls out al the time. Also haven’t figured out how to get the top switch to alternate to each track. Piece of junk. Convince me otherwise.
