This is probably my favourite of their instrumentals. And excellent performance. I’m still kicking myself for missing this show when it came through my town.
Rush instrumentals are so creative, really like this one, so well performed. I believe Neil has a line of drummer shoes, Urbann Boards? I would think, like dance shoes they would be light and offer both grip and slide, dance shoes have a suede sole for that purpose. Thanks Justin, love this concert.
Caravan for me, I initially dismissed it as a mediocre track and skipped it as it just didn’t grab my attention. However after reading other people’s posts on it I listened to it a few times and yeah it got me. It’s a rocking track.
Lots of triggered/sequenced bits in this one. But yeah, probably in the top three instrumentals. Any time you get to see Geddy just go off -- especially if its improvised -- is worth it.
Neil stated he used a lightweight dancing shoe. he converted over to give him a better feel and non slip off the pedals. Love this song as it shows Geddy's ability to just jam out. great job JP
The comment you made about Neil's shoes might be right. But after he studied with Freddie Gruber, they antiquated playing drums to a dance. During this playing transformation Neil started using men's ballet shoes instead of regular street shoes to play in.The ones you saw in this video, we're custom made just for this tour and the Clockwork Angels tour. But I agree with you, they do look like race car driving shoes. 😎☮️
Another Freddie Gruber recommendation so that Neil could feel the pedals better with his feet, yet they still give the feet support like a good shoe should.
F in awesome instrumental grew on me more than YYZ especially live, I'm not ditching any of their instrumentals, but this monkey business and la villa live are my favourites
I think they were dancing shoes? Interesting how Neil added more trigger pedals. All three were busy with their feet later in their careers. Hope your juice stays (stayed) on. Vids are great; AC is kinda more important.
@@JustinPanariello Found it. You liked Geddy's tone, the jazz bass, and more than once you brought up Working Man for whatever reason. ruclips.net/video/tFq-sCbgihA/видео.html Your next video should be you reacting to your reaction.
Somewhere in an alternate universe, Gene Simmons taught Geddy those licks at the end of the song... 😅
Was Gene a non-asshole in that alternate universe too? lol
Bullshit. Gene couldn't teach Geddy crap. The guy is a scrub.
Gene is so full of shit, dude is the dOnald tRump of the rock world. Ged plays circles around him..always has
I'm dead lmao😂😂😂

Not for me when La Villa Strangiatto and YYZ exist

The bass is what sticks out most on this track, it’s so good.
Does the “Hey!” at the beginning disqualify the song as an instrumental??

Great sound on Geddys Bass here. 👍
Obviously Geddy steps front and center here but what I really like is his recurring bass line. Just into the vibe.

cool jam by a bass master, one of a kind

Dancing shoes. Love the bass and drums on this tune, crazily I always found the guitar solo rather pedestrian by Alex’s standards…
Presto is a great song!!! And i believe it is the first time they played this live
2nd best instrumental...lovely performance...Geddy the star here...love sound of all the instruments on this one🤘
No Freddie Gruber got Neil to wear DANCING SHOES 👞
Wow this is crossing way too many lines huh (Line Dancing??)
Gary says: GEDDY FUNK RETURNS TELL KITTY HO 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛😝😝😝🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Justin(The power is back up BAM 💥)Panariello 😝😝😝🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
I just love the PRS sound .
One of my favorite instrumentals! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!
Justin using maximum effort to not to say anything when the chicken guy comes out.🙊
Well done.
Last time I saw them was on this tour in Vegas...I recorded the same song.
RIP Neil.

Nice one! As for Neil's shoes, those are a variation of a dance shoe. He changed to those after spending time with Freddie Gruber.
Every element met. Beautiful solo too.😮

Geddy should have pulled out the Wal for this one. JK
Thanks for doing these videos!
They are dance shoes with leather soles attached. Neil mentioned them in an interview once
Nice instrumental.
4:50 … that tone… even better than Rio…
Cycling shoes
Very nicely played!
Dancing shoes.
look at that kit damn
If you'd read Peart's books, you'd know those are dance shoes. Duh Justin!
I have many questions for this 'drum' teacher... lol
Well...At least Geddy's Bass hasn't lost it's voice 😮😂❤
I so badly want to both thumbs up and down this comment..... I'll stay positive today and just go with the thumbs up... 😅😊
What the hell are "driving shoes"???
I can tell you what they are not, they are not flip flops...
No problems with the vocals here
Ouch😂
Am I crazy, or have you reacted to this version before?
Its possible. Before I started their discography i was doing Live only videos of bands (including Rush) and did a few Cleveland tunes.

oh god i look terrible. and the camera looks terrible (old phone). lol
Such elegant, laid back playing by Neil.
They are the best spun silk booties known to man. Like the finest of college jerkin socks amplified to the power of 9.
omg this can't make the comments section... lol
@JustinPanariello
What's worse .... naked man showing his arse on 2112 or Neil showing off his glistening jerkin socks on stage?
