Riccardo Buffoli exactly, the ok 👌 was Not controlled and he Missed the rope a few times with the other hand when he tried to hold it. It might be a Record , but it Looks a Bit shaky on the Surface.
I remember trying to hold my breath at home some years ago (after watching one of Williams older videos) and I was able to do 4 and a half minute after a few days of "training" ....I had a slight headache the next day and I just wonder if that happens to you freedivers too?
Does anyone know what the record is, for a completely unassisted free dive is? No fins, constant weights, no using the rope to descend or ascend. I want to know what a human is capable of doing on their own.
+Dimitris Siafarikas Hook, Hook, Hook = coaching William to keep inhaling and keeping his bloodpressure up, so the O2 supply to his brain does not drop below the level when people faint. Signal = is telling WIlliam, who is fighting N2 and CO2 narcosis effects when to do his signal The coach is doing all this because the athlete needs to show the jury a protocol of: taking facial equipment of (only noseclip in Williams case), showing a diver's OK sign, and verbally saying: I'm ok. Easy to do if you are within your limits, and impossible to do when you're over your limits (severe loss of motor control/ samba or full BO) This surface protocol must be done within 15 seconds to a jury. The feeling of time is hard to know when you've done a very long and or deep dive, so here a coach helps a lot to help time the breathing(hook) and giving the signals (signal). Oh and the athlete need to stay above water (without help) and not be touched until the Jury shows him the (white=approved) card. For national records, world records, this can be up to a minute, so the Jury is sure the diver is ok, and not blacking out after (quickly) doing the protocol. Personally I've taught myself to do 3 hook breaths, then show the protocol. This takes about 12 seconds so just in time for the jury, while helping me through those first 9 difficult seconds on the surface (if I'm on the edge).
+Premrajan A it is probably a mix of BTV (voluntary tube opening) in the shallow and "Frenzel-Mouthfill" technique in the deeper part of the dive. If you are interested you will find a lot of documents on these methods of equalisation on the net.
Unbelievable, this mental and physical strength. And still alive that is the best of it.
Fantastic, congratulations! And with todays 124 FIM WR also.
I am so proud to this guy! He is a strong man! keep going what you do William
Wow, respect the Trubridge!

Epic
I would drown after the first 10 meters....how does he does 122?
Crazy
If his dive was 4:24, why does he reach the surface in this vid at 03:10? What was cut out? (and congratulations btw! Amazing!)
+Sen Craine You honestly don't know what was cut out?
+Sen Craine 122 meters is 400 feet if my math is correct. That's pretty deep!
Woah that is amazing!! #kiwiproud
It's crazy how close to the shore that is
OR JUST PLAIN CRAZY
This was the Deans Blue Hole....

Textbook samba!

yeah; yes it's normal; you are not used to high levels of CO2 . Nothing harmful
So it's not about a lack of oxygen...thanks for your reply!
Why did you change the music?

102 meters. The record is also set by William.
I would have a fucking panic/anxiety attack diving into shit like that
What is the guy asking him right before the start cheering?
+Dimitris Siafarikas

+ookiemand Thanks for the great explanation! Quite a remarkable thing to achieve !
Song?
Memoires composed by myself :D
Who the hell changed the audio???
how do he equalise ? can any one tell me?

His wife is a yoga teacher. I bet that helps with his breathing, fitness and mental game. Yoga can help all athletes..
They must have some gills attached to those lungs!
what if megalodon is alive and lives at the bottom of blue dean?
122 meters is 400 ft of water. What the heck?????? O_O
Bare in mind it's 400ft down and 400ft back up. That's 800ft altogether.
James Omahony You're right! That scary stuff! :(
Greek Pasta Salad I wouldn't say it's scary just absolutely amazing. Free diving is as much a mental practice as it is physical. It's mind boggling
мы можем не многое. мы можем все.
А че не показали как он потом кровью харкает ???
These people are super fishes....THEY R FISHES
Someone is eventually going to freedive this entire blue hole.... he's only a couple hundred feet off the bottom anyway.....
If you swim, then swim! Don't crawl along the tightrope!
incredible ? 👉-----👍
You are great enough. Now, stop the competition, please...
