Dude, the whole broken plank on dock that you have to jump tutorial but that wasn't actually part of tutorial joke took me waaaay too long to figure out. I rewatched it a few times. Lol!
The flagship was a pain. Thing was spitting out a small army of Cogs every minute it seemed. They have unlimited ammo, the ship regenerates back to 100% if it gets to escape even a single time, and tanks. Specifically the tanks with Tesla modules attached to them.
Can you still go under the map by falling through the seabead at a certain point. And from there beeing able to fall all the way to the underground layer and the final boss room?
I've had Volcanoids on my wishlist for a while now and I finally got it on sale last weekend. While I do love the drill, the enemy design, and the constant threat of the volcano, I gotta say that the new player experience is pretty underwhelming. I feel like the first several hours are just doing tutorial quests, and story wise you basically show up and get told "go take drill!" and you have your shiny new drill-base within like 30 seconds and then the story is just the tutorial chain. Also, is there any music in the game? Feels like I'm just wandering around in complete silence until I stumble upon some enemies. I definitely see the potential and I applaud the devs for making something unique, but I feel like getting those opening hours to feel more compelling would be beneficial because getting you hooked in the beginning is important.
I usually play with music off for editing purposes- I will be sure to take that into account in my follow-up! I agree about the "story" - but it seems like once the new map finally drops there will also be extensions of the narrative beyond a linear path through the crafting loop (whenever that happens)
Well, a brand new update dropped super recently- it's not the story overhaul, but it adds some really cool stuff for the drill- good time to give it a try for sure
Good suggestion! There are a ton of already established channels that do t really great coverage of 7D and its updates that will probably beat me to the punch, but this overhaul is 100% on the radar :)
Just started playing today. I've played many many survival/crafting games and this one is the most convoluted and confusing of them all. The crafting system is horrible and needs a centralized UI. The form/function ratio here is 'I have a vision' out of 10. More complex systems like Bellwright or Soulmask or Mist or even SCUM are simpler somehow. It's fun despite that so far so ima keep beating my head against it till everything clicks, but dang. Great vid. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! To help the channel grow... well, you know the Drill.

That used to be a whole minute and a half long rant segment but I cut it because it was just too much
